***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Does anyone else have youtube issues. Running on a good wifi signal youtube seems to spend every 5 secs buffering. Samsung tablet on same network runs fine.

Any ideas ?

My phone does get quite warm, warmer than any I've had before.

Other than that it destroys my old iPhone 4 in terms if performance, just a little painful buying in to another ecosystem but I still have an iPad so I've not lost everything I've spent in the apple ecosystem.

I too am trying to look for one.

Since my younger brother lost his HTC One S, he wants to stick with Android and this is so far the best and priced well - if it ever comes back in stock on Google Play.

eBay prices are so inflated, it's crazy!

Anyone knows how best to monitor Google Play UK for when stocks arrive?

I believe you can get apps that track N4 Play availability.

I've not had any of the reported issues with my N4, I let my kid play a game on it and tbh I didn't think it was any hotter than my Note used to get after a similar play, sound is fine, vol is fine signal strength has been fine with better wifi all around my house than my N7, the camera seems to be pants but that's probably me not calibrating or augmenting properly.

Just received my poetic bumper case and so far first impressions are very good. I think it looks pretty good with it on, I can keep protectors off the front and back and not worry about setting it down. I keep it in the nexus 4 shocksock slip case and it fits OK with the bumper. First chance I get I'll post some pictures. Its well worth the money anyway.

Yep received mine yesterday as well and pretty much same impression from me, just a quick review after using it for about a day. It feels of decent quality, typical polyurethane case but it doesn't feel cheap, I also checked and tugged at it as I know some were saying the grey and black parts can come apart, bit it seems sturdy enough. It looks nice in grey and black with the poetic logo on the side, It's easy to get on and off and fits the phone very well, it does adds grip to it as it's not a slippery finish, the black areas are smooth and the grey a little coarse to add grip, not rough in anyway.

The moulded parts for the power and volume buttons work well and the holes for charger etc are cut out very well, all in all it seems like a good car for the money and a great alternative to the official bumper.

Got myself a couple of NFC tags to play with, going to attach one to my gym bag and have it kill wifi and start playing music

Hmm, I’m getting some strange battery usage at times.

My battery was at 90% when I left for work this morning, I used it a little bit now and then to check a few mails, check facebook, access a few websites. About 90 minutes later I noticed the battery was down to 70%, the stats showed 23% of the total usage by ‘email’. I’d briefly checked a couple of mails but no idea why it has chewed up so much battery.

Just a heads up, on Amazon.com there are some reviewers claiming that liquid armor isn't that protective, amongst all the positive reviews, the bad reviewers seemed to all be Apple users, so I'm not paying them that much heed as they almost certainly didn't apply it properly, in their arrogant haste to get it just working.:D:o:rolleyes:

Hands free headphones = gay, get a grip

Rubber band wins.

The vibration on this phone is so weak! I keep missing calls at work even though the phone is on my desk. The phone of the guy further down from me vibrates his desk so much that my desk vibrates. It gets scarily hot when using the gps too, and battery life is poor.

Sounds like you need to root and put a custom kernel on your phone.

My phones has stronger vibrate, undervolted and nevers gets that hot. I can easily get 4 hours screen time on 3G and over 5 on Wi-Fi.

I have had mine for over a week now and coming from an old Omnia 7 windows phone Android is still buggy.

Unlock screen starts to freeze after a day or so use and needs a reboot to cure.

Notification and Ringer volume at max is very quiet.

If I set to vibrate then turn volume back up I sometimes loose notification sound...reboot again.

With a case on or off when running navigation the phone gets very hot

I have googled these issues and they seem common.

My Omnia 7 would go for weeks without a reboot and was very slick on single core 1ghz

I am sure these software issues will be resolved and I love it even with them !

I have N4 from the beginning of the sales and never experienced any of the issues you have mentioned.
As for loudness, it is louder than my old Gnex.

Jimlad:
Your headphones from gnex don't work at all????
Mine do....so not sure what's wrong.

But I would like to have a headset that I can use to skip music tracks etc.
At the moment click switches player on or stops music and accept calls

You tried double and triple clicks? my headset skips tracks that way on the N4 using those commands. The volume controls dont work though :(

ps3ud0

To those that got offered a refund on postage for their nexus arriving late.. have any of you actually received the refund? I was told nearly a month ago it would be in my account within a couple of days but still haven't received a thing...

Had mine over 6 weeks, never had to reboot it once and still as fast as the first day i got it..

Argghhhh I want one of these... wish Google/LG would sort out their supply issues (or maybe it's artificial shortage ), the price gouging on that famous auction house etc are ridiculous.
