Battery seems fairly good in that review since in one of the screenshots the dude had no mobile signal the whole time, which drains battery quick.

What am I going to do with the accessories though! 32GB micro SD, MHL adaptor and the extended battery kit. Worth over £50 new.

Any recent version of Android is fine. It was only when 2.2 / 2.3 was mainstream that customisations such as Touchwiz and Sense UI were extremely beneficial.
However, since ICS - November last year, Android has become awesome in any variety, just pick and choose whichever you like the look of best.

All those added manufacturer "features" also come with an inherent delay with Android updates. So pick wisely
