***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Anyone going to try out the Ubuntu Preview, thinking to maybe stick it on my phone for the weekend and see how it is.

One of my friends tried it, said it was very glitchy and that gestures just don't work properly.

In other news, i am becoming rather tempted to get a Nexus 4 myself...

Does anyone else have problems with blue tooth still? I'm on 4.2.2 and my phone will not stay connected to my hands free kit for more than a few seconds before it disconnects.

:(
Suppose for the price i can't really complain.

I thought the same, but then I just re-evaluated how much stuff I need on my phone, which is a balance of music and apps. MP3 192kbps (encoded using LAME) is usually considered transparent - the FLAC library is for home. :)

Cracking phone for the money, despite some flaws (the capacity and the buzzing).

Should Google Now cards just "pop up" or do you always have to go to notifications or google now (by swiping up from home button) to see cards?

It seems to have figured out what route I take to work and which tube line and route to use which is neat.

It would be nice if it just popped up or made a sound or something, and then you could open it or check notifications.

they won't pop up, sometimes they come up in notifications, i think you need to rummage about in the settings and set it to beep, etc.

but most of the time you just need to go into it, you should be going into it to do anything on your phone in the first place, you can search for anything in now, apps, places, etc.

in fact there is no need for multiple home screens, you only need 1 and use now for everything else.

e.g. if i wanted to use sat nav, go into now, type nav (navigation will pop up automatically at bottom), click on navigation and continue.

I might get a bit annoying as it tends to check a lot of the local transport in the area I am in and so on. You could maybe stick the widget on your home screen for more info but I personally find its really good at least with travel when I wake up in the morning it tells me about the tube lines and which way I should take today, and so on at around 5pm ish for the way home.

I have setup the widget now, but the problem is to see enough cards you need to give it a whole homescreen, and if that is not my primary screen I still have to swipe to see it (in which case I may as well swipe up and see the "full" app!)

You are right though, I need to use it for everything to realise the benefits. I am convinced I read somewhere that it just "pops" up, maybe even in the google now settings?

I go past Wembley park on the tube, I swiped up while the tube was passing the stadium and it had the photos card showing snaps taken of the stadium :) Simple, but pretty impressive to see!

When you say it "tells" you, you mean you open the application or look at the homescreen with the widget on?

Does any one know if there is a 32gig version planned?
Because 16gig is not enough for me.

I dont think we will see a Nexus with anything more than 16Gb of storage. Google is making a push, as they are with Chrome Book, to move everything to their cloud services.

I didn't think 16Gb was gonner be enough when i migrated from 32Gb iPhone but to be honest on the Nexus 4 i have only filled 4Gb of storage.

Google Music holds all my music but "My Fav" music is stored locally.
Drop Box handles my "Camera Roll" and my "Saved Pictures". I also got Sky Drive and GDrive for backing up.

For me, it works beautifully as i have access to my music, my pictures and all my saved files from anywhere and everywhere. Its all in sync thanks to cloud services.

I use to be one of those with loads of apps installed and everything copied over but i found that i hardly used most of the apps and i only ever listen to my favorite tracks so what was the point using all that storage.....

Its just on the widget, it will have things like weather, travel and anything else important at that time. It works quiet well, you can have it on your lock screen if you want too. Before I got the widget it would populate everything in my notification area so when I woke up in the morning I would have a notification about the tube and the route I should take and so on.
