***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

no ive not, think i will phone google tomorrow.

on another note, gf does not want to update after seeing what happened to my phone, its downloaded to her phone, does anyone know how to remove the option to update? thanks
It sounds like you need to install the google USB driver then enter fastboot. https://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html

Are you sure you're on fastboot?

More info on fastboot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277112

Fastboot driver is totally separate from usb one. There are loafs of threads with the universal fastboot driver on (oddly the one I used was a Samsung driver).

Install that and then the fastboot OEM devices command should show your device

What's happening in device manager when in fastboot?

I had a code 28 error pop up.

im not the most technical when it comes to these things. not sure if this screenshot helps.

i do appreciate the help, and does anyone know how to remove the option to install 4.4? cheers

It is cos I flashed 4.4 onto my nexus 4 in an 8.1 version of windows.

Go to your fastboot folder in cmd and type /fastboot OEM devices.

That should give you the device ID if all is working.
