***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

You Sir, are a star! :D

thanks for your help, that worked no problem. Was only without my phone from Thursday night

once again, thanks guys for persisting
Glad it worked! :D

You should be able update to 4.4 now too (might take a couple of days to come through). Make sure you leave it for a while after the reboot during installation.

Being stuck on 4.1.2 I dont know if Google have sorted out multi tasking on newer versions of android.

But can you multi task now on 4.4?

For example, play music in you tube, and then access your out look account at the same time without you tube pausing or having to exit the applications?

Switched over to the GEL after updating to kitkat on my N4 as I wanted the full monty!

Enabled the hotword detection by switching to the US english setting in the voice section of google now and have not noticed any reduced battery performance since or any other drawbacks so far :)

You could multi-task on all versions of android, Just not have youtube playing in the background, Background audio is on its way though apparently. That is something that is long overdue I agree.

I'm confused I have 4.3 (Cyanogen) and I play Iplayer Radio/Google Music all of the time in the background whilst doing other things

There is nothing to sort out, Google don't want you to use youtube as a background music player, they want you too see any adverts they put up, hence why it pauses when it's in the background or the screen is turned off.

Anyone getting ridiculous battery drain on 4.4?

Only just updated yesterday, but I had android os taking up 64% of my battery earlier, after a restart and charge that seems to have sorted itself.

I am using GEL so not sure if it's caused by that yet, will test it a bit more tomorrow.

Kitkat has been a bit crap so far.

Ridiculous battery usage (turning off wifi has fixed that for now) as well as random lag and blank screens. Not impressed.

Anyone using ART? Haven't tried it yet, is it safe to switch to it and switch back if I find apps don't work, or is it going to cause problems?
