Anyone see this on iTunes? All the form elements show a weird darkish rectangle around them. It was like this immediately after a fresh Leopard install and is still the same after the iTunes 7.5 and OS X 10.5.1 updates.

Oh well, thanks guys. I haven't done anything strange - it's been like that since day one, just in iTunes. Everything else is fine.

I'm using a MacBook/Leopard with an external DVI monitor and a calibrated colour profile. If anyone has a similar setup then I'd be interested to see if it is the same.

Well I have my copy of Leopard.. although I have my MBP here, I'll wait till I get home to make a backup of the important stuff before I install it.

10.5.1 already :o

There'll be a lot more updates to come.

My Applications started going missing in Spotlight until I picked them out of the Applications folder - then they started indexing again properly.

Airport keeps dropping out - they haven't fixed that from Tiger.

My MBP runs about 20oC hotter than it should. iTunes and Safari open the other day and it was hitting around 84oC. Room isn't anymore hot than it was with Tiger and I had much cooler temps.

Don't know whether it's CS3 or Leopard, but when I choose the text option, it likes to take 3-5 seconds to itself, before it makes it available for use.

Was pleased at the start when it was a completely clean install but becoming less and less happy with it - there will be niggly problems but my particular annoyance is with Airport, which they've had ample time to fix.

Really considering going back to Tiger.

Are you sure it's not a hardware specific issue? I've never had any of these AirPort issues

Did you install fresh or upgrade?

I fresh installed.

Not sure if the Airport problem is hardware based, but I had no problems with it when I first got my Mac. Then there was a few pretty big updates and one of those seemed to have borked it completely. It's making Adium cut out several times a day (without notice) and recently has started to stop my browsers.

I'm pretty sure it's not the router either. Just an absolute nuisance.

Ah right, 10.4.8/9/10 are generally considered to be the "dodgy" updates.

..the ones that have messed up Airport for some users.

I thought I would update this with the following:

My Mac Mini was running tiger and was bombproof. Never ever had a crash. Safari 3 beta would crash occasionally but that was just the app itself. Everything else was perfect.

My new iMac is running Leopard (archive install, not upgrade) and I've had a few problems and bugs:

- mouse not working after resume from sleep, very annoying
- sometimes resume from sleep is a bit weird and stutters
- quick look windows sticking at the size of the previous file viewed
- iMovie crashed on load until updates applied
- big problems with Parallels until reinstalled (i.e. kernel panics)

So far I'm a bit wary of Leopard, Tiger seemed more stable and a touch quicker opening finder windows etc. Just hoping 10.5.2 fixes the rest of the issues.

Seems from the thread on the Apple Support forums that the last update has killed Time Machine stability with Kernel Panics everywhere!

Just had a nice issue with wake from sleep - the keyboard worked for the log in but then stopped working at the desktop (even the caps & num lock lights!).
I could use the mouse and applications but no keyboard.

Reboot fixed it.

Is anyone "unconvinced" by Leopard at this stage?

What surprises me is that Vista has got lots of bad press, I have tried it and thought it was ok apart from being slow.

Tiger was brilliant, but a few things are now bugging me in Leopard.

The latest is Quicktime which always opens it's window in the far top left of the screen and won't remember that I want it in the centre. Every video window opens in the wrong place. Not the end of the world but a bit of a pain.

If it wasn't for all the amazing stuff like QuickLook and the much better Finder I would be thinking of going back to Tiger.

Hmm, I'm starting to feel very glad I didnt run out and buy Leopard. Looks like I'll be waiting for a few more updates before I dive in.

I'd love to upgrade and try out the new features but theres no way I'm taking a step backwards in stability as Tiger works (almost) flawlessly.
