** The Official Mac OS X Leopard First Impressions and Review Thread **

What version? im using 3.0.1 and ive done complete backups of the MBP, MP and iMac using it onto External USB2 drives, all have completed perfectly and all tested by booting from the USB2 drives, all work nicely albeit a little slow.

How big is your Applications folder? I backed up my complete MP(~200gb) in less time than that.

Trying it again onto my Windows partition, if it fails after this then Ill have a hunt around!
Seems to be doing it faster this time around though, 4 minutes in and it looks like 5% done.
(Copied 390mb)

Anyone using WebClips? The thing in Safari that lets you create dashboard widgets out of elements on webpages. Works really well - top feature!

I did one for the Digg top stories earlier but then I realised I only ever use Dashboard for iStat and that I visit iGoogle more often so I deleted it.

The Time Machine drive appearing to store more than its current size? I think files that don't change between backups are only actually stored once, but reported as a full size file in each of the backup points. Quite strange, but I guess it effectively keeps the backup point folders separate, with no reliance on each other as far as user interaction goes :)

Aha, I see, thanks. :)

Managed to get everything except Library folder backed up.
Its 18GB, do I need that as well as the Applications folder or is the Library one not needed ?
Just don't want to have to reinstall everything!

I tried last night to backup the Library folder, 9hours and it did 4GB :/

Had my first lockup last night forcing me to pull the power plug.

Was recording the audio from a DVD and then I opened a Firefox Window. It was silent for a couple of seconds and then the DVD kept playing but it was unresponsive to inputs, maybe should have tried holding down the power button...

There is a super-secret hard shutdown if you want to know it ;)

Ctrl+Alt+Apple+PowerButton

<BE WARNED> It waits for nothing, it just shuts down instantly.
