INteresting. was looking at the Leaf Twig.

After years trying to get to grips with DE shaving IM about ready to surrender.

I have however consider an SE or maybe something of a transition DE like the Muhle Companion.

Anyone used the companion?

update well worth getting the leaf for a head shave ..a lot of it has to do with blades ..i've tried 10-15 brands permasharpe and nacet are my go to now..but that depends on your skin and hair ..

Just picked up a leaf razor (thanks for that :D ) where do you buy your single edge blades from ? And what’re you using ? Edit. Bought it in the blue colour!

but you can use full blades just snap them in half by folding them .. in the wrapper :)
i use permasharp .. but you really do have to try a few .. some are good for one person and bad for another
Ah I see. I didn’t realise you could snap doubles in half. So I have a bunch of feather doubles edges…I can just snap em in half ?? There doesn’t seem to be a seam or anything on the blade ..

Does anyone have a Philips Oneblade and can advise on the different model types? There seems to be a Pro model, 360, Pro 360, Norelco Philips models... it's all very confusing

I have somewhere between a 7-10 day stubble/beard (2-4mm at a guess) and use a beard trimmer, and a clean wet shave on my neck. My beard trimmer was a cheap one that is very blunt now, thinking a Oneblade could do that all with no need to keep buying proper razor blades either.

Afternoon All!

I have a Jagen David wet razor but my Remington MB350L Lithium cordless trimmer is 3+ old now and the battery is starting to lose charge hold, and good cordless beard trimmers available?

Thanks!

I use a Wahl one for trimming down to stubble when I cant be bothered having a proper shave, had a few Wahl trimmers down the years and they are generally pretty good. Usually do ok With Remington too though.

Had a Babylis (spelling?) one which went blunt and died a bit too quickly so I tend to avoid those now.

Hi all, just used my very last Gillette 7 o'clock green (indian) blade from a bulk purchase i made in 2018 £1.20 a year to shave isn't bad value...

Anyway just wanted to see what was good on the DE blade front at the moment as i can see the Indian blades are hard to get hold of without mistaking the Russian ones..

Yea I'm also conscious not to buy the russian ones.

I know they are probably more expensive but tried feather blades? Japanese I think? I think they are the best ones I have tried.

Try Connaught Shaving, they tell you where each blade is manufactured, like Budforce says above cannot fault Feathers and yes they are made in Japan, I thought all Gillette blades were made in Russia as the Yellow ones I still have a few left are (bought pre-covid so shows how long they last), Wilkinson Sword blades are good too and they're made in Germany

Best blades i ever found were Iridium Super and Polsilver Super Iridium.

Both are extinct except for some people who horded the Polsilver and are now charging ridiculously high prices for them.

I have hundreds of the Polsilvers left luckily.

Not sure why but i just get less cuts with them, and i found that if i rub proraso pre/post shaving cream in really well before the shaving cream I often get zero cuts or blood spots at all.

My Babyliss hair and beard trimmer has finally died. Only use for trimming my facial hair - I only shave properly maybe once a month.

Looking for a decent replacement, went to my local barbers today for a haircut and hot towel shave, they had something similar to this: https://www.babyliss.com/uk-en/high-torque-super-motor-trimmer-BAB7880U.html which I'm thinking of getting.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Just bought a Braun series 5 from Amazon for £75, electric razors have certainly come on a long way since I had my last one and used to rip my face to pieces with it!
As I'm shaving a lot more often now it's less faff than using my Merkur 34c and I can keep that for a nice leisurely shave at the weekend.

This thread needs an outright winner in terms of best wet razor and best electric shaver. :)

I currently use a Braun Series 9 but need to replace soon as the charging prong is due to disintegrate (corrosion). I could buy another Series 9, but on the lookout for a less expensive option if anyone has any recommendations?
