***The Official Manly Shaving Thread***

@NickK have you tried Taylors of Old Bond Street, they do a Cedarwood?

What companies are you lot buying from lately? Just gone to get some more stuff and realised my usual (Shaving-Shack) had closed down. :(
Cornerstone I've been using for a number of years now. Just the razor, blades, shave cream and after balm.
The Cornerstone shave cream is quite thick. I usually thin it down a bit with a quick splash of water. Took a smaller Harry's shave cream on work trip recently (plane liquid requirements) and that's quite thick too.

second this, very thick

After my Edwin Jagger DE89 threads failed for the 2nd time (as it's chrome plated it will always happen, but EJ have been incredible with support and have fixed it both times even though it's 15 years old nearly!), I decided to treat myself to the fully stainless steel version, the Edwin Jagger 3 one 6.

Beautiful piece of engineering, impeccably finished and the shave is more aggressive (in a good way) than the de89 is.

Properly impressed, well worth the money for something I use daily.

Mine looked like new but the coating came off the thread which makes it fail eventually.

Had no issues in Manchester with soft water so maybe it's the limescale causing issues, but Google says it's basically one inevitable due to the coating process. Either way, it's a bit step up in terms of shave, too, so i still recommend it! EJ sent me a free replacement top part so the de89 lives on, but I keep that in my travel toiletries bag now!

Just in the process of hitting the buy button on this one too, I'm coming from a Merkur 38C, which I've had for about 10 plus years, it's still in very good condition and served me well. I'm just fancying a change to be fair.

Still using my Merkur 23C that I got in 2009… I think on a recommendation from this forum! Never looked back…

I bought about 10 years worth of blades, then I did it again, so I still have a while before needing more. I must have saved hundreds of pounds and got a better shave…!

Been using a Merkur 38C long handle for years now, still have my 34 but never use it.
Only shave about once a week these days though.

Still using the Cella extra extra purissima shaving soap, miles better than the cheap stuff from the shop, never got on with prorasso.

This is the way.

The number of people you see on reddit buying 5 new soap picks and a new brush every 2 weeks. Some people are just spending addicts and somehow turn something like shaving into a part of their personality.

I went through a little phase of buying nice creams, aftershave etc. Before I remembered the reason I switched to DE shaving was to save money.

Must've been more than 5 years since I bought anything other than cream now. DE89 is still holding up well. That 3one6 Edwin Jagger looks mint though I must admit!
