***The Official Manly Shaving Thread***

Bought myself a Oneblade Pro 360 finally. Going to the US next week though so need a travel case. Seems to be a glut of cases on the rainforest but none for my model (QP6541 which is a Pro 360). Anyone got one they could recommend?

Almost finished my first order of 100 blades from Connaught Shaving back in May 2019.. so I'm going for an straight order of Feather blades I think this time.

Still using Mach 3 blades for wet shaves. Are there any good electric shavers out there? I have very thick and quick growing hairs, so it’s often a challenge.

This thread needs an outright winner in terms of best wet razor and best electric shaver. :)

I currently use a Braun Series 9 but need to replace soon as the charging prong is due to disintegrate (corrosion). I could buy another Series 9, but on the lookout for a less expensive option if anyone has any recommendations?

That looks good, but yes, expensive.

This thread needs an outright winner in terms of best wet razor

I've tried dozens of DE razors over the years, from Feather AS-D2, to vintage Gillette's.

My two 'winners' are, for a gentle shave, and great for a beginner the Henson AL13. This is my daily driver.
For a slightly more aggressive shave, if I've left it for a bit. The "Standard Razor" is fantastic. Finding a UK vendor might take a bit of work though.

The issue with finding outright winners, is everyone will have different opinions.

I vote Merkur 34c HD. Had mine for well over a decade at this point. Still like brand new. Lovely shave. And with the right cream no nicks (I even did a cold wet shave yesterday, not a single nick)

I use the Cremo shave cream. Linked below

Just wondered what the process is for disposing of used blades?
Does anyone use something similar to these and take to the recycling site when full?

I have something similar, a moneybox can from £1 shop, when full (had it over 10 years now) I'll get another and throw this in the blue recycling bin.

In terms of razor my original Muhle R89 is still my go to, others are good but this one works just as well which ever blade I put in it

I watched a video the other day where old American homes had "blade disposals" built into the wall. Turns out they were just dumping it into the drywall/cavity space.

Yup I have a feather metal box that’s almost full. I assume it goes in the recyclable metal. I may ductape the slot just to prevent any issues.

Ok so it appears the L'Oreal has decided that their "Barbers Club" no longer needs a shaving cream.. and the one that I used and that worked without leaving massive rashing, they have decided to discontinue. It also smelt of Cederwood so was really nice smelling. I've been using this for years but my last tube is almost finished.

So I'm looking for a new shaving cream.

I've tried soaps and gels:
* Wilkinson swords blue tub soap = too thin, even when fluffed up with a badger brush. Rashy.
* King of Shaves - none of these gels worked and left massive rashes
* Gillette Shaving foam - nope, never had this work and left massive rashes.

What seems to work for me is something that is quite thick in the hand and when spread on the face, that helped smooth the blade over the face.
