Not sure if anyone has a Savers nearby. It's like a nastier version of Superdrug.

Anyway, they're doing Real Shaving Company face scrub and soothing balm for £1.49. It's the old packaging, but exactly the same as the stuff Creighons are selling for £4.99, plus you get 125ml instead of the 100ml in the new packaging.

Cheers Richdog. I'm back on my 4 foil panty. Bought new cutters for it that have breathed fresh life into it. When I change next I have my eyeing a Braun series 7
 
So I decided to start shaving with a DE Razor.
I love it, very much approve.
But I got given a shaving brush that was an artificial bristle one from bodyshop and it's losing bristles.
I only got it at christmas so I was wondering if I'm being too rough with the brush or if it's just poor quality brush, Any Ideas?

I mix the two!!..

I use the Blue Beard Straight Razor to Get the Long Stuff as it won't clog, then my Merkur to Shave Down and then the final up!

I've the Edwin Jagger Sandlewood Soap and Badger Brush!

My Wife is very happy with the 'Smoooooothness' of my face!! :cool:

A few hair losses to begin is usual. If it all falls out in a few months I'd be sending it back :p
 
My new custom brush arrived on Monday.

The handle is Walnut treated with Tru-oil (It's darker in natural light) made to the same dimensions as a Simpson Chubby 2, with a TGN Finest 2-band 26mm knot, set at 48mm.

I used it for the first time last night, its excellent for face lathering soaps as i thought it would be when i spec'd it.

I'm very happy with how it turned out :D
 
Got a Merkur 34C coming and a blade sample pack. Might get used to doing my face before I am brave enough to tackle anything else. Genuinely looking forward to the positive difference this will make over the generic supermarket shave junk. Hurry up postie!

I already have a Badger Shaving Brush so I should be good to go :D My old Mach 3 is going to the great razor scrapheap in the sky.
 
I've just bought

- Merkur 34C
- 100 Feather blades
- a 50p Palmolive shave stick (absolutely amazing, cheap or not)

Still using my old badger and bristle brush from Crabtree & Evelyn; it's fairly rough but gets a lot better when soaked in hot water pre-shave.

My first two shaves with my old King of Shaves gel were all right. Slow, but all right.

Today I did a much quicker and more aggressive three pass with the Palmolive, and oh my word...this is what I've been missing. And my face already looks better.

I shave in the shower by the way, which works really well for me, but next on the list is a steam-free mirror as I can't afford half a view with this thing!

Loving the experience so far though. I don't know if it'll wear off, but I'm already looking forward to shaving tomorrow. My face still feels really smooth and it's 12 hours since I shaved. I've got a much-reduced 5 o'clock shadow.

Got a craving for a best badger brush and some top grade cream, now I've seen the difference a 50p shave stick can make.

That's what it does to you, man.

My tip for shaving sticks like the Arko and Palmolive ones is to unwrap them and press them into the bottom of a suitable container. This allows you to lather up straight off them with your brush and a little hot water.
