The Official Microsoft Flight Thread

will it have multiplayer? I used to fly with a few buddies on fsx it was so relaxing.

Yes it has multiplayer 16 man servers.

Can someone clarify something? Is it just the single large island of Hawaii thats in the free download? Or are the others included?

You get the big island & two planes only with the free download.

It's £14 for the rest of the islands you also get a plane with the islands, the Vans RV-6A, two-seat, single-engine airplane.

Wow, thanks for the link garsands.

£9.99 for one plane! Amazing! £14,99 for the rest of Hawaii.

Imagine how much the UK would cost if they every go that far!

Will probably download the free bit for a play, not tried a flight sim since the Amiga!

£5,000 - £10,000 for the whole world at a guess?

The pricing is inline with the likes of iRacing & Railworks both of which if you bought all of there download content at the moment would cost close to £1,000 + the monthly fee to play iRacing.

iRacing is a great SIMULATOR! Flight isnt a great simulator, arcadey expensive rubbish (i was a beta tester).

Just the big island i'm afraid. The others will be a download on Windows Live along with extra aircraft. MS want stupid money though. Something like 20 quid or so.

Thanks fellers, wow...bit of a bummer there. I thought that It was all the big island of Hawaii when I first heard about it. I hope at least some of the default planes they are selling has a good glass cockpit. Even trainer planes like C172s have blinged-up Garmin glass, some of them with more capability than in a Next Gen 737 or A320 PFD.. (synthetic vision etc)

the graphics are lovely - and run very smooth (smoother than FSX)

currently over the Island in a thunderstorm and all good

flight modelling feels "odd" though - finally got through the initial tutorial missions to open up freeflight

no engine or plane sound from chase view either ?
