*** The Official Microsoft Surface Thread ***

Mines not there either . But haven't checked it before so not sure if it ever was. Hopefully just a bug with the site. Edit: it's working now for me.

And thanks for the write-up POB, I was worried about RAM usage with only 4GB, but I rarely run VMs so it should be OK.

Also probably stupid question, but it's been years since I pre-ordered anything, the site says "Ships by October 21", does that mean it's sent out on the 21st, or arrives on the 21st?

22nd isn't coming fast enough!

Anyone got any good reviews or videos of the Surface Pro / Pro 2 to keep me satisfied till release day? Have already read/watched the interesting ones I could find.

Keep me sane!

I was waiting till John Lewis stock these so I can take advantage of their 2 year warrantee.

I'm going to be buying the 128gb version, anyone any idea how likely it is they will stock these on or close to release date? Or should I maybe pre-order direct from Microsoft?

Annoying that the Type Cover 2 has a release date over a week after the Surface Pro 2, seems a bit pointless having it without the cover!

Bit late to any kind of MS Surface party. For some reason my missus wants to buy a MS Surface RT (there's one on the indian meal website) for £319 including touch cover tablet keyboard.

It's a 32gb model so how much actual disk space is there left after the OS is on?

edit: it's ok I found it on the MS website. What a con...

Surface RT:
The 32 GB version has approximately 15 GB free hard disk space.

At that price I would avoid. Its not an offer this is just the price MS charges for them.

I liked the RT, but the new Surface 2 will be so much better.

I think the price may drop further.

Nope, everywhere else says 1 year warranty, check the tech specs section of the Surface Pro 2 pre-order page from Microsoft.

That's why quite a few people who bought the original Surface / Surface Pro did so from John Lewis.
