*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

I tried to redeem my Mario Kart World code on the site they suggested:

Hopefully it works on the Switch 2. I don't want to use it until the screen protector arrives :D

Thanks, I'll take a proper look after I finish work (at midnight).

Realistically I could just have missed it, and the box was really badly packaged so it could just have been transit damage, but both seals broken and actual Switch box looking like its had a corner kick, plus not immediately obvious code does make me a little sus.

It's just a small slip of paper. It will likely be there.

I redeemed mine straight on the NS2. I think, at the moment, they don't let you redeem in a browser because until you ACTUALLY have an NS2 and logged in then Nintendo don't want you thinking you can play MKW on your NS1.

I had that too. One update and a few minutes later the NS2 was happy and continued with the transfer. I guess if you've not updated in months then maybe your NS1 needs to catchup on a few updates first.

My switch was on 16 and is a cfw switch anyway doesnt matter after some clicking and messing about i now have my oled on the latest firmware and cfw and the switch 2 also seems happy, I did kinda nuke the og CFW a bit during the update as you do :)

Not buying new pads will just carry on with the king kong 2 pro and pbtails pad.

Box is very small. Sounds like a few people in the US have had issues with Gamestop stapling a receipt to the box which has punctured the outer box, actual box and then damaged the screen.
Yeah this is hilarious. An employee stapled the receipt to every pre-ordered Switch 2 at a store in New York and they all had screens scratched because the staple went through.
The person used a staple gun !

Normally I'd expect so, but I didn't see it earlier anywhere obvious, certainly not where Raymond mentioned it would be; and the box was a complete mess with some pretty big rips, broken internal padding, and a pretty great corner bash, and both seals broken. All in I'm a little concerned its been tampered with; but I need to check its not managed to work its way into the outer box somehow, given some of the internal cardboard padding had broken off.

I actually just got off the phone with John Lewis, they're investigating; as they agreed from pictures the damage to the box was pretty egregious.

I'm actually amazed the dock, joycons and Switch itself look and seem to touch wood work fine; they've told me they'll get back to me tomorrow or Monday about a replacement, or if they cannot replace the unit, due to the stock situation, they may look to see if they can simply provide me a replacement copy of the game.

Either way I'm sure it'll get sorted; John Lewis have always been pretty decent with this sort of stuff, plus there's 2 years warranty on the thing if anything does turn out to be wrong.

Edit: Just remembered - after this, I really need to unbox and check the wife's one when I finish work, even if it is at midnight. After the state of mine want to check hers is fine!

Hilarious!

Not for protection from a staple gun.. but for anyone thinking of not bothering with a screen protector; the screen is plastic, it scratches ridiculously easy.
