*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

I got the JSAUX 3-Pack Screen Protector, was £6.99 and went on perfect, didn’t bother with the alignment frame.

Also anyone tried Portal 2 it crashes at the title screen, was mid way through this on my OLED switch.
Aye, I had them delivered today but did use the guard rail. To note, I have never managed to get a screen protector on any device without a tiny bubble or a smudge of sorts around the edges. This went on perfectly.

I've not kept up on the Switch 2 at all, couple of questions,

Upgrades to games, like ZBOTW for example do the upgrades work on cartridge games?

Backwards compatibility, can I just slot in my original switch games and they work as normal?
Yes. I have BotW on cartridge. Paid for the update for 6 quid, redeemed the code and it downloaded the S2 version (as far as I'm aware). Still need the cartridge in the console to play.

It's nice to see a bunch of games getting free Switch 2 updates. Mario Odyssey looks quite good on a 4k HDR screen now, as does ARMS (one of my fave Switch games).

In some games, performance (and to some degree resolution in a few cases) is improved even without an update.

I'm hoping for a 60fps Witcher 3 update but not holding my breath. It does run locked at 30fps, unpatched, according to DF.

Someone on another forum said you get the BOTW and TOTK upgrades for free if you're a Nintendo Online subscriber. I didn't spot this yesterday in the eShop, or is it in the online area somewhere?

I was about to buy the BOTW upgrade but handy if it's included with NSO.

FYI - It's NSO + Expansion membership.

Mine has arrived also.

Unfortunately as I saw mentioned elsewhere, seals broken, and box looked like it had been through a blender with some pretty hefty damage (because some idiot decided to dump the switch box inside a bigger box with no padding...derp; albeit luckily Switch ITSELF seemed ok (no stapler marks here...).

Also worried I'm missing my Mario Kart code, but having to take the box properly apart later. I'm in discussion with JL regards that, as I might just ask them if they can replace the bundle at this point; as it could be the case this one genuinely has been opened elsewhere.

My query is this - does anyone know if you can transfer a Switch 2 to Switch 2 yet?

Given the condition, I may just get the entire thing swapped out; but I'm wary I've already transferred from my original Switch, which has transferred at least Pokemon saves over to the new machine one way (with none left on the old machine) as I'd wanted to check the machine worked OK after the extremely rough shape its box came in. As the Switch appears to be working OK, as long as I have my Mario Kart code paper somewhere, then I'm fine, albeit the box looks terrible; but it might be better for peace of mind to just get it all swapped out; but ONLY if I don't lose my saves doing so!

This aside, new machine genuinely feels better; new Joycons are a marked improvement over the old one, and the Pro Controller feels really nice. Judging by the early videos I'm seeing, it looks like most Switch games run at least as good as they did before if not better, which is nice; and one of the few things I was worried about.

Dock is wired, but not seeing full gigabit speed out of the network connection yet, but could simply be the servers getting pummelled right now haha

Portal 2 isn't on the list of incompatible games so that's interesting, I wonder if it works on a new profile/fresh save.

With Cyberpunk being a thing and I think a good port, a Witcher 3 update at some point feels like a fair bet.

stupid switch 2 was like "update your other switch" so I did and it still said update your other switch  I gave up told it I dont have it but it loves to moan that its not the primary console.

I had that too. One update and a few minutes later the NS2 was happy and continued with the transfer. I guess if you've not updated in months then maybe your NS1 needs to catchup on a few updates first.

Can you use the new switch 2 Pro Controller on a switch 1 ? Not intending on upgrading kids Switch anytime soon, but want to get a pro-controller, just wondering if I can use this new one.
I've just tried and no you can't pair the Switch 2 pro controller with a Switch 1, the Switch 1 doesn't detect it

The code is inside the top layer under the Switch, by the HDMI cable...if it is there.
Thanks, I'll take a proper look after I finish work (at midnight).

Realistically I could just have missed it, and the box was really badly packaged so it could just have been transit damage, but both seals broken and actual Switch box looking like its had a corner kick, plus not immediately obvious code does make me a little sus.
