I mean there isn't much else they could do with the form factor. Just look at Steam deck, ROG Ally etc. All very similar.
This might be better simply for it's size difference, but there will of course be third party ones. They could have made it more ergonomic like the Steamdeck. They could have added protruded grips like the Steam Deck has. The flat controls of the Switch kills my hands after 15 minutes.
I'm 39 and this will be the first time in my gaming life that a Nintendo console will be my primary console (PC Primary platform).
1994-1998 SEGA Megadrive
1998-2002 SONY Playstation
2002-2006 SONY Playstation 2 (Nintendo GameCube)
2006-2013 MICROSOFT Xbox 360 (Sony Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii) - Made move to PC gaming as primary platform in 2011
2013-2020 SONY Playstation 4 (Nintendo Switch)
2020-2024 SONY Playstation 5
2025-???? NINTENDO Switch 2 - Sold PS5 in August 2024 as I never really played it and I'm more patient to wait for games to come to PC now
Really excited for it. I really hope it sorts the poor performing Switch games through backwards compatibility (For example: 20FPS when using the Ultrahand and poor performance in places like Kakariko Village in TOTK, also the aggressive dynamic resolution in the Xenoblade games)
Unless it manages to have dlss in some form to increase resolution.I'm probably most interested to see how backwards compatibility is handled, I hope there's some way that the enhanced hardware can provide an across the board improvement in performance without much or any work from Devs.
Obviously I accept that enhanced resolutions, etc will need work from devs to enhance a title though.
Ah did they? Do you have a link to an article or video? This is very promising and good newsThey said the old joycons work so I would imagine the pro controller will also.
100%, the switch is AWFUL to hold compared to the steamdeck. They could have made it more ergonomic like the Steamdeck. They could have added protruded grips like the Steam Deck has. The flat controls of the Switch kills my hands after 15 minutes.

I am also wondering if the existing Switch Pro controller can be used because I'm perfectly happy with it to be honest
Ah a fellow Odin 2 owner. That thing is a beast and yes it's much comfortable to hold than the switch.Yeah I ended up having to buy a Skull&Co Grip; even my Ayn Odin 2 is ergonomically much better

Ayn, pretty much a nobody company compared to other brands came out swinging and at a great price. Also winlator works some wonders on a bunch of pc games. Its incredible isn't it! I wasn't expecting it to be as capable as it is!
I may still buy a theoretical Switch 2 Pro Controller but it would depend on what the features are. I've heard rumors of analogue triggers which from memory I don't believe the current one hasi guess there will be a S2 pro controller also...
i imagine the current pro controller will be compatible
Wasn't there some announcement last year of cod games coming to Nintendo?Seems Microsoft are indeed in on supporting the Switch 2 as previously rumoured; with Xbox Boss Phil Spencer now talking about supporting Switch 2
