This is amusing. :p

The original.

Also. LOL @ Google.

MS reply to Google.

"YouTube is consistently one of the top apps downloaded by smartphone users on all platforms, but Google has refused to work with us to develop an app on par with other platforms. Since we updated the YouTube app to ensure our mutual customers a similar YouTube experience, ratings and feedback have been overwhelmingly positive. We'd be more than happy to include advertising but need Google to provide us access to the necessary APIs. In light of Larry Page's comments today calling for more interoperability and less negativity, we look forward to solving this matter together for our mutual customers."

Just a little heads up, you can buy the 920 for £260 and get a charge pad free in EE!

Go to a store and get it checked out, it's pay as you go, no contract. Absolute bargain!

Only downside is it's simlocked out the box. However, there are sites that unlock these around. :D

Anyone got any idea when the big update is due?

I'm wavering slightly here, I've been considering a switch back to Android but want to see what the update has to offer.

From what I have read GDR2 is due possible at the tail end of this month or next. I believe its been released to the network or in the phase of being released.

It seems a shame about the screen, as I was hoping for a upgrade. It looks to be in the same generation as the L920 mind.

While CNET's inside source was unable to confirm just what the Nokia Windows Phone will be branded, we're still looking at the "Lumia 1020" to replace EOS, which would make sense as this is a fairly large leap from the Lumia 920 (along with the Lumia 928 and Lumia 925). As well as the 41MP shooter, the EOS is expected to include the following:
• 41 MP camera with Xenon flash
• Nokia Pro Camera
• 32GB of internal storage
• OLED screen at 768 x 1280

Few more leaked specs on the Lumia 1020

Optical image stabilization (OIS)
F2.2 aperture camera
It takes the image in a 32MP and 5MP at the same time in 16:9
The 5MP image is 7 pixels over sampled into one pixel.
It shoots 38MP in 4:3
2GB of RAM
32GB of internal storage, no microSD
WP8 V 8.0.10322.71
FM radio (Amber)
Flip to silence (Amber)

Is this Lumia 920 still worth getting now?
I'd be looking at about a 26 pound a month contract (Unlimited data)

I'd be coming from an Xperia Play.

Its still a pretty good handset, at the moment. Especially if you like the photography aspect of it. However, we are around a month or two away from the true successor of the Lumia 920. Nokia have a event scheduled around September for this, which is rumoured to be a quad core \ 1080p handset. This will also coincide with GDR3.

I know, but I thought there was an interim update between 10211 and Amber?

Are you confusing firmware and OS updates?

8.010211.XXX is the current OS version GDR 1 i believe and 1232.5957.1308.XXXX is the current version of the firmware.

The amber update will contain a update OS Build version 8.0.10327.77 or 8.0.10328.78 and a updated firmware.
