just ordered one of these bad boys - cant wait to play on it - had to get it in black but I will just throw a green case on it :D

Sorry for all the questions!

Quick one, the only and I really mean the ONLY thing i miss from iOS is tapping at the top of the screen to scroll right to the top.

Is this or anything similar available in WinPho8? :)

Don't think so. This is pretty much unique to iOS AFAIK.

I was afraid of that as it makes navigating long pages a real pain. Im sure there was something you could do with android to avoid having to scroll up, maybe it was a feature added in a ROM as it has been so long since I ran stock OS.
hopefully there is something that can be done, maybe by using the back button or volume buttons as it is an annoyance
 
Yay, my phone is back, just setting it up now, no portico update yet, but as it is German and there are reports of Portico rolling out for German and Italian Networks, hopefully it won't be too long to wait

My 2 Rock cases arrived as well, Im liking the blue one on my black phone

Setting up my apps now - will be interesting to see if the damn thing actually is fixed

Any chance you can you put up a pick of the blue on the black please. I might order a couple more in different colours. Black on black was a safe choice.... but it's a bit boring tbh :)
 
Why have nokia made it so difficult to buy the new lumia range?

Could anyone please tell me which version I need to buy to use my virgin sim?

I purchased an 820 from ebay which on the box says EE-GB and then when the phone is on, under the network settings it says ORG-GB. Does this mean that the person who bought the phone from EE has registered it with orange and now it will only work on orange (and possibly t-mobile)?

Will a sim free version work with a virgin sim, or do I need a completely unlocked version?

No, it will be an EE handset, but EE, Orange and T-mobile share the same network.

Yes. A sim free 820 will work with a virgin sim.

Edit: I wasn't aware of any issues getting hold of 820's.... 920's on the otherhand.
 
It's not so much the availability that's a problem for the 820, its the huge confusion they've made over the EE/Orange/T-Mobile/Virgin situation and offering sim-free locked and sim-free unlocked versions.

Edit: I thought virgin shared the network with tmobile, orange and ee, thats why I presumed the EE version I purchased would work fine?
 
Word on this thread is, Virgin Sim works on EE 'locked' phones. Doesn't matter if it's Orange/T-Mobile, they are all EE now.

And with regards to the 820, there are plenty of Sim-Free going around, CPW definitely sell them Sim Free even if you go on contract.
 
God I hate screen protectors, they make the screen feel all horrible, and cases are gay too.

Anyone had any luck with the liquid protector stuff? I don't suppose it'd do the back tho because its a bit rubbery? And I don't suppose it would be hardy enough for my job. Ho hum.
 
Skype sucks on WP8 - on android it stays awake and takes messages. On WP8 it seems it has to be open to received messages and calls? Anyone else find this?
 
And the phone has locked up again :mad:
All I did was get it home and start installing all my apps - cant even go back and uninstall them as the touchscreen is not working to do anything
 
Hi all, having lots of fun with this phone HOWEVER is there anyway I can access the films and pictures, that are stored on my laptop, via wifi without having it all stored on sky drive. im not looking for VPN functionality just a way to access files over the same home network

this is my first smart phone so im still getting my head around all this stuff
