While I get decent battery life on my phone I always thought the reported battery level dropped too quickly after coming off charge.

Last night I ran the WPBench battery stress test, which ran the CPU at full pelt for 2 hours 18 mins. Using the phone today the reported battery level appears to be much closer to where I expected it to be.

Well i haven't used the phone today as much as i would have liked due to,being rather busy, but still racked up about 2hours of browsing and youtube videos, few calls and texts. Probably just over what i used it for yesterday for the same time period, battery is now at 36% so seems to coincide with yesterdays results. Ive concluded that nothing seems to be draining the battery when the phone isn't being used at least, just seems to be browsing that kills it.

Also had another bricking today, had just disconnected it from my cars Bluetooth so ill keep an eye out incase they are related.

Those who have battery concerns have you tried quickly tapping away on the back arrow, when you have finished activities for the day. I found that the OS keeps 5/6 apps running in the background and this saps power.. Hope this helps

What video players are you using, on some sites it'll play mp4 but not 3gp.. Any ideas of what suitable player there is?

Im starting to wonder if i've got the right phone, i know its not know for its apps but theres a few im really starting to miss - autotrader etc.

I just use the OS player, plays everything I've chucked at it apart from xvid and mkv.

With regards to apps, loads of webpages uses mobile pages these days, you tried auto trader mobile site? It looks alright and you can pin it directly to your front much like an app...

I have whatsapp still installed and manage about 20 hours before needing to charge. CNN, MehDoh, Weave and a football notification thing - that doesn't work quite well - in the background. Constantly listening to podcasts and playing Alphajax. Auto-brightness. Perhaps our definition of astronomical differs?

I get about the same as you but I have BT, WiFi constantly on, connecting and disconnecting between home and work e.t.c.

What I find annoying is hoping for beyond the 20ish hour is possible, I had that for awhile till I installed Whatsapp - need it because of relatives overseas.

Where as im now getting about 2 days now.
One day is fine by me, when I get home I drop the phone on a charging plate so I don't need 2 days of battery life. Phone would be charging every night anyway. I'd rather not deprive myself of Whatsapp, I have a large amount of friends and relatives who live abroad, if I couldn't get a full day then I would start worrying.

Yeah, I had about a day and a half before I installed it. I wonder what they are doing wrong - and my live tile still fails to notify some times. I have Wifi and 3g on constantly too. BT though, don't think I've ever turned that on.

While we are on this topic, am I the only one that's puzzled about the data connection switch? I guess its done that way to prevent accidental switching, but I'd rather have it like the Wifi toggle. Much rather.
