In the settings on the phone you go to backup and it saves all your contacts and apps to the cloud, after the flash you just restore from that and you get everything back, just have to redo the home screen tiles and the odd setting.

Was pretty painless, done mine twice now and colleagues once.

I've done the backup, after flashing, where's the restore option?

Glad it worked out for you, quicker than the OTA update also without all the spinning cogs and restarting.

Cheers, I'm actually surprised at how easy it was. :D

All I've had to do is enter a few passwords, connect to my WIFI, turn off NFC, turn off xbox music connect, download the maps, set WIFI to always on, turn on glance & double tap, reinstall my music. And redo my home screen.

Double tap to wake is a SUPERB idea, no doubt Apple will invent this on the iPhone 6! The Glance screens awesome, and Nokia Pro Cam is perfect. :D

I'm sure there's a technical reason the didn't do it, but the call, email, and SMS count on the glance screen would be nice.

Anyone else getting this, my ring tone and message tone seem to be twice the speed they were before the update...
This intentional?

I have a personal ringtone thats working the same but will check, but my Nokia Messages chime seems to have gone up a few notes and plays faster, dont like it, sounds kinda stupid and not the famous Nokia tone.

Ok so I'm a wimp any idea when OTA EE will be made available?

Butch up girly pants.

1:- Back up your music & podcasts to your computer
2:- Backup your phone to Skydrive.
3:- Get the NSU For Retail from ^JP^s post on the previous page.
4:- Install and update to 3.08
5:- Open NSU and plug in phone, it'll say an updates available.
6:- Click update.
7:- 10 minutes later it's done.
8:- Your phone will reboot, it'll ask you for your Skydrive login, then it'll say do you want to reinstall your apps, yes.

Then "All I've had to do is enter a few passwords, connect to my WIFI, turn off NFC, turn off xbox music connect, download the maps, set WIFI to always on, turn on glance & double tap, reinstall my music. And redo my home screen. "

it pretty much does it all for you.

What is the best podcast app, I have podcaster, but it doesn't tell you when new podcasta are out on the live tile, just how many unplayed downloaded ones you have.

I really like Podast Lounge, not only does it notify you of new podcast, it can be set to auto download them, you can also set it to WIFI only, and comes pre loaded with 20'000 podcast links. Plus it manages your podcasts superbly. £1.49 well spent.

How do I enable double tap to wake? Can't seem to find the option. Is there a list of what the update actually did anywhere? Besides data usage and the tap to wake thing don't see anything else.

Display + Touch then on the touch section tick the box for double tap to wake.

As for other updates I don't have a list but a few you didn't say are:

call+SMS filter
FM Radio
pro camera and video edit apps
colour profiles
flip to silence

Ah, is the video editor built into the pro app? Might have to have a look at that one. :)

You have to download an app called Nokia Video Trimmer. I haven't used it but I think it is pretty basic.
There is also the video uploader app to go with it.

Pro Camera is incredible. Still amazed by it.

But no T9 dialer.....

Seriously, I thought Nokia pretty much invented that, yet its missing from what was the top line phone...
