P.S I don't have the latest update and my phone says its up to date, what's that about?

Go to settings -> about -> more info. Give me 'carrier' and 'firmware revision number'. Then go to settings -> extras and info -> more info. Give me the 'manufacturer name' and 'mobile operator'.

Trying to get this phone unlocked......getting fed up now.

Request it 10 weeks ago with T-Mobile. Heard nothing for 40 days, called them, said they would check something with Nokia and would call be back within 24 hours...heard nothing for a week but they have charged me £20 for it. Called back and then was told as it's SIM-Only deal I have to go back to where I bought it - Phones4U. Called them - said they can't do it as must be done by T-Mobile. Called T-Mobile back and they said they can't do it neither and suggest I go to an ILLEGAL unlocking website or shop to get it unlocked. Sad to admit that I said they were ******* useless *******. Although they are call centre staff and are not the problem, if you promise to call someone back and don't then I'm sorry but I'm going to be angry.

Absolutely ridiculous. So now I'm fed up and got a stupid useless phone locked to the worst network in the world.

/Rant.

its why I always buy a totally sim free unlocked phone.... because of such nonsense and running around.
p4u probably missold it to you like they did with me. they probably said "yeh, sim free"...but actually its not.

any one got an unlock code from EE to work ? finally got the unlock code off of them . After inserting new sim and entering 20 digit number all I get back is sim error.

I ordered my code a while back, and the 20 days they'd get back to me in expired on Wednesday. Got to give them a ring and shout at them this weekend to see if I can actually get a code out of them :(

Has anyone got a fix for the phone automatically turning itself on when you plug the USB charger in, I can't find a way to charge the phone and keep it turned off.
Also ordered a i3 Dell venue pro 11" - just shy of £275 via a deal at work, so will give it a go and report back as I was thinking of an atom based 8.1 tablet, or at a push the 2520
On a separate note, just got back from Marrakech, and HERE surprisingly was terrible, just couldn't rely on it at all, it was over half a mile out for the location of our Riad, some of the main sights were OK, but others were on the wrong side of the city, I was a massive fan of HERE, still am in this country, but for Marrakech, I ended up having to let the missus use google maps, most embarrassing. I took loads of notes so Im going to find where to feedback to Nokia so it can get fixed...
Part of the problem will be that they have no chance of getting any decent mapping tools through some areas unless they can fit something on a scooter as the streets won't accept cars...

Im 70 days into waiting for my unlock code from orange many emails and such and now spat out my dummy and ordered one from somewhere else ill report back if I get it sorted out

That looks way too busy for me, cool app though.

But imagine News RSS feed on the Glance screen instead of the silly pictures. That would be incredible everytime you pull your phone out of your pocket there's the latest breaking news alerts.

Where's Elliot .... make it happen!!

Well, I rang up EE and managed to get past their horrible automated phone system! I spoke to a lovely lady called Jo who apologised that the 20 days had passed and gave me £25 off my bill and removed the cost of the unlock code. She said that the person who does the unlock codes is not in over the weekend, but it's been raised and I should get the code on Monday. She also gave me her email address so that if I've not got the code my lunchtime Tuesday I can contact her and she can chase it up.
So, decent response from EE so far, just have to see what Monday brings.

Need my 920 that I've had for a year unlocked. It was bought 'sim-free' from EE, but has had a Virgin SIM in it. Moving over to that £15 plan with 3, anyone recommend a cheap and reliable website that will do it cheaper than EE's £20 fee?

I spent fair time looking for this but cheapest I found was www.fonefunshop.co.uk for £35 cant say much about it as my code hasnt arrived yet,, only been 1 day though out of estimated 10 but I have heard good things.
