Ive gone from a 920 to a 1020, Im loving the whole lumia range, great build quality, the constant stream of updates keep the phone fresh and WP8 is actually really well designed.
 
Been playing with the phone, although I prefer android simply because of the tinkering possible but Windows is so smooth and easy and intuitive to use. Very nice phone and operating system. I can live with this and not miss android much, have android tablet so do really need android phone.

I do seem to have one slight problem, my camera button does not seem to take picture. All it does is turn on the LED and autofocus but does not take a picture I have to manually tap the screen to take picture.

I though that by pressing the camera button when the phone is off (not shut down)its mean to active the camera program?

I don't think the button is defective but why does it not take pictures when pressed?
 
The camera button has a 2-stage press, half press for focus, then full press for taking a photo. Just try pressing the button harder...

I have to be honest the button does not feel very robust, scared to break it. Think ill just use the on screen tap :)

just checking the phone for any faults since button works, ill just leave it alone.
I have a habit of breaking buttons.

soon people will need an app for getting out of bed and an app for putting on their shoes lol.

I am not a fanboy of any operating system, if it does what i need then I am happy. Give windows few years and it too will have lots of applications base. I only require the most basic from a phone, reliable youtube application, internet explorer, GPS and that is it and maybe chess game, really do not require much more

Was wondering what case and screen protector have you guys found works well for the phone?

The button should not feel like that. Should be nice and easy to take your picture. Are you able to get a replacement?
 
Anyone having problems with WhatsApp? Just noticed it recently that the app isn't updating, and I only receive messages when I open the app. The background task is running, so I'm not sure what's changed. I've updated it during the last few days with the updates that have been pushed out, and I'm running GDR3, but I'm sure it was running fine initially when I updated the GDR3, so I'm thinking there might be an issue with the latest updates that have been pushed out?
 
Was wondering what case and screen protector are you using for you 920?

I just bout a folio type case and screen protector, the case was horrid and the screen protector does not fit the whole screen lol.

any recommendation for folio type case and screen protector that covers the whole screen?

Due to the curved edges on the Lumia 920 screen I've never seen a protector that would cover the entire screen. Even if you could get one then the adhesive would need to be so strong to stop the edges curling up that it'd be a permanent addition, and therefore pointless.

valid point, but this protector does not even get close to the start of the curved edges, it just covers the internal LCD screen and that's it.

So i am assuming most are not running screen protector?

and what about a case, what do you use?

if the 928 and 925 are anything to go by then nokia would likely release an international version of the 929 maybe called 926? it would seem very logical well we hope so :)

No, its ms paying and devloping the app with skys permision if true.

However with wp8 taking marketshare in the eu, they should be making one. Theyre a provider, why providers dont take a note from amazon and probide for all platforms i have no idea or netflix. More platforms more money.

It's Sky, they are very pro Apple unfortunately everyone else gets a second rate experience at the moment.

However, on a side note its going to be interesting to see what happens in Germany over the coming months as WP "could" overtake iPhone in terms of market share as it has done in Italy. That's going to be really entertaining. :D

Have decided to get the Red 920 from Tesco, wanted this phone initially last year but release took too long and I was in need of a phone and went with the Note 2 on upgrade.

Now bored of the Note 2 and I don't use half of the features but I will miss the great battery life.

Phone will be in my hands on Thursday!

Having a play with my new phone now, it is beautiful and has a lovely build quality feel and I personally like the weight, makes me feel more secure when handling a mobile phone.

Love the windows interface but I knew I would already having had a lumia 800 previously.

Any must have apps you guys could recommend?

P.S I don't have the latest update and my phone says its up to date, what's that about?
