Android – Video Playback Issues


We are currently looking into problems affecting the Nexus 9 and some Sony Xperia devices running the KitKat (4.4) and Lollipop (5.0) versions of Android. Users of these devices may see flashes of green during video playback or a blank screen.

Users of Samsung Galaxy devices - This issue should now be fixed by accepting an update from Samsung.

We are working with Google and the device manufacturers to resolve these issues. We'll update this FAQ when more information is available.

Playback issues on LG G2, LG G3 and NVIDIA Shield devices have been fixed by the manufacturers in firmware. Please ensure you upgrade to the latest version.

I have same issue, I've wiped phone and it still happens. Highly annoying.

Can't find any settings to turn it off in phone or in WhatsApp, I can turn off notifications completely for the application which stops it but then I don't know when I get messages.

Glad I'm not the only one with the issue. I've still not wiped my phone yet, I've had everything set up the way I want for a long time, but this whatsapp problem is really really annoying.

Same as yourself I have to either completely disable notifications from coming through altogether (which I've done for each whatsapp group) or else I get a pop up on screen above all other apps, even if I'm in a game. This only started when I did the lollypop update. My mate has the same phone, he updated and his is fine, I really need to go over and compare settings because I've tried everything.

I've read on sites and seen videos, saying that it's not very good. Takes ages to lock to the satellites and doesn't see all that's available.

And I know this is a long shot, but if anyone is using the "TomTom Go".
Do you get voice instruction clipping when using bluetooth in your car?
A few peeps on the TT forum are having problems.

Mine has no problems. May depend on where you are using it but from Bristol centre (built up areas where old GPS refused to play) to rural Wales I've had no issues. Used all the way from home to Aberdeen with no issues either.

Wss using stock EE KK and now stock LP.
 
Another bug that doesn't seem to go away; smart select with the S-Pen just randomly won't initiate. I select it but nothing happens.
 
Fair enough - whats you battery page like?

Your phone is showing 100% wake time, that's why the battery is draining. Is your note rooted? If it is then it will be easy(ish) to find out why, if not then it's a bit of a mine field.
