**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Try flashing the french EU rom to those having poor battery, heard it's quite decent.

I'm getting stellar battery like on my UK unbranded handset, 7 hours SoT today with 10% left, I'm averaging this for the past week or so actually.

I've tried more ROMs than I can remember right now, over Kitkat/Lollipop/CM, makes no difference whatsoever, always comes out with pretty much exactly the same battery life.

Has anyone had problems receiving phone calls?
My Note 4 never rings any more it just seems to go straight to voicemail, I'm on Vodafone and frankly as its my business phone its costing me clients!

That's crazy.. something very wrong there. Where did you get your note 4 from and which model is it ? Is it network branded too to a specific network ? I'm running a stock phone not rooted and get on a heavy use day close to 6 hours screen on time. Also my screen is always set to max brightness.

I'm also on android L. Make sure you have no rogue apps and have all the apps updated too.

The phone came from Three.
Today, I've only lost 11% battery in 9 hours with 3 minutes of screen time. That is more like I would expect.

Mate... I would never ever run my business on a samsung android phone. I love samsung and android, but when it comes to simply making and receiving calls I have so many issues with dialer software and antennas that i would never trust samsung for business.... hence my business phone is an iphone 5s, and my personal is a Note 4...youtube and riptide aren't as critical...

Thanks mate, I've never had problems with Notes before but this is getting a joke, I think an iPhone is probably where I'm headed for calls though

Is anyone thinking about going from the note 4 to the note 5? Im curious how much it costs with EE to upgrade to another phone mid contract. My main reason mostly is the snapdragon cpu just runs so damn hot and I was planning on getting the VR headset too at some point. Ill wait to see what the specs are like of course first but im curious if anyone else is.

Back to 4.4.4 this week and its now lasting a day and a half plus again with 5+hrs screen on time, set to about 1/4-1/3 brightness.

aaaaaaaaaand the ****ing thing just went and installed the 5.0 update... didnt even ask me if I was sure when I accidentally hit the button upon unlocking the screen....******s.

Yeah, that appears to happen. I'm backed out of the screen with the back button and it just pops up "installing update".

Does anyone know how to stop the OTA update on 4.4.4? Unchecking the box which says automatically check for updates does not work and it goes ahead and does it anyway.

Edit: Frozen both the "Software update" in Titanium Backup has got rid of the notification.

5.1.1 rolling out in Russia at the mo so shouldn't be too much longer before a useable lollipop version appears

Here's hoping it solves my battery and lag issues.

The lag I can deal with, although it's certainly annoying considering the specs of the phone. The battery life however is pretty much a killer, getting 2 hours of screen time over the course of a normal day is just pathetic.

Please for the love of God, fix the utterly terrible lag on the task switcher. A fix for the battery drain, removal of those annoying togs on the notification panel and the camera features from the S6 would go down well. Likelihood? Little.

I still have no idea how Samsung have managed to release a phone with these specs with this amount of lag!

I used a friend's Samsung A3 today, and it genuinely has less lag on the recents app menu than the Note 4 does. Boggles my mind!
