**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Do these not all still come with a fast charger? My first one did but the one I had delivered yesterday the charger is slightly different, and doesnt say active fast charging or whatever on it?

They should do and it's recognised by the phone when connected. It does say 'Adapter Fast Charging' on the charger.

They have asked me to email a few pics so will see what they say.

e. Well they came back and apologised and said a fast charger is in the post. Result.

Really regretting buying a Note 4. The battery life is shocking and seems to be completely unpredictable. I have to re-boot it every day if I don't want it to be slooooow and laggy.
It's funny how I bought the Note 4 because the battery on my HTC One M7 was dying and could barely last a day. Now I'm in the same situation with my new phone and it's barely a month old. I think I might move it on and go back to my M7. At least it was a known quantity and was so much faster than my Note in day to day tasks around the OS.

I've done full reset after full resent and TBH I'm bored now. I just want it to work properly. Luckily I have an iPhone 6 plus as my work phone and that never lets me down, gets great battery life, and is super fast.

I was also surprised how the laggy the Note 4 had become on my mates after the LP updates. It was a pure lagfest.

My sisters Note 4 is still on KK and runs much better.

I've noticed the battery issues also. I've had times where I only listen to music for a little up until lunch and the battery can be somewhere like 65-75% from a full charge the previous night. In the afternoon when I listen for around 4 hours, by the time I'm ready for home, the battery will almost be dead.

It isn't always like this though, but it is disappointing.

Not had battery issues with LP in the UK but in Portugal the battery drain was around 30% higher then when using KK. There is most certainly something not right in LP with battery use.

The thing that kills the battery the most for me, and I've tried a whooole bunch of custom roms with various xposed modules is poor signal, either WiFi or Cel.
At home where I'm on WiFi or 4G all day I can get 6 Hour SOT every single day off.

At work I'll be lucky to get half that, if I tried.

It is indeed :p It's an odd one as others state the battery life is appalling, but mine is perfect.

It's the odd lag I seem to encounter quite often that drives me nuts, sometimes it's blazingly quick, others it's slow.

If I could get a Note device, but with quick software, and no bloat/lag, I'd be in phone heaven :D

It's the same with the s6 people getting wildly different sots and lag, mine is way better than my s4 was across the board but I have used an app called package disabler to disable 94 packages, yup 94!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

I've tried disabler and it has definitely helped. I'd say I get an extra 20% on average, sometimes I'll have a day when it's back to how it used to be, 1.5 days on one charge, others I get just one day.

On the look out for a replacement thought I may just keep the N4 in the hope that an update sorts it out!

Thats the thing... almost no phone meets the specs and value of the Note 4 even the announcements from Moto and OP have compromises... I just want to keep the Note 4 but have fast software.

It's unreal, I've been a samsung customer for years but its at the point now where I'll never buy a Samsung again because no matter how good the hardware the software is screwy - battery issues, lag, freezes etc. Its just so unpredictable.

Downloaded this but how do I know it's working? Once opened, it just showed me a list of apps, and within these a list which seemed to be all ticked.

Am I to assume this has automatically started working?

You have to tick the boxes you want disabling, pretty much all the pink ones and any others that suit you.

I ticked things like all the FB offerings, health and weather

Thing is i remember after playing with my note for a week that it would lag even on KK/launch software, especially when ejecting the s pen and trying to copy/annotate webpages ect. I had to send it back but here's hoping the note 5 will fix the issues of 4

Does anyone know why I can't flash a carrier specific (EE) rom on my Note 4? A while ago I went for a stock lollipop rom and now want to get it back to an EE branded one but no matter what EE rom I download (KitKat/lollipop) it always fails, right at the end yet Odin will happily flash the stock rom still.
