**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Anyone seen this:
http://anandtech.com/show/8537/samsungs-exynos-5433-is-an-a57a53-arm-soc

It was rumoured prior to the Note 4 announcement that it would be running the Exynos 5433, and that it was a 64-bit SoC, but as there was no mention of 64-bit most people assumed it was the old A15/A7 big.LITTLE setup.

But it's not, which is very interesting, still going to be in 32-bit mode initially, Only Android L supports 64-bit mode at the moment, I'm assuming they'll 'switch it on' once they upgrade?

Either way the Armv8 architecture has a fair few improvements, add in 20nm and it's very interesting, not sure who's selling what version but Handtec at least have the Exynos version up for pre-order it seems.

Note Edge price is up now at Clove, £650 Inc VAT

Bargain, pre-order placed......
TBH, initially I was a bit meh, but now I think the Edge offers something truly different/unique. Company purchase, so arguably there is a tax saving in there somewhere on the  price :p

£650 is pushing things.....
I paid a little under £400 for my Note3, sim-free, in January but suspect I will have to pay shiny-new-thing tax on this fella, if they actually manage to get any stock

Samsung Electronics today announced that the Galaxy Note 4 will be available to pre-order from Samsung Experience Stores across the country, including the Samsung Store at Westfield Stratford City, from Friday 19th September, followed by other selected online and high street retailers including Three and CPW from Friday 26th September, before it goes on general sale on Friday 10th October.

Tomorrow for official pre-orders through Samsung. Release date is the 10th October.

Can't actually get through to my local Samsung Experience since yesterday which is an absolute joke.

Do you know what the price is and if pre-orders get charged full etc?

Thanks : )

What I'm finding laughable are the hypocrites who would **** off the note phones for their "laughable size" but are now saying how good the bigger size of the iphone 6 plus is.

Anyway Note 4 seems the much better phone for me personally.

I think the iphone 6 looks cheap, which is a first as apple usually have superior build quality.

Roll on Note 4.....

How much do you think one of these are gonna cost on a £38 contract? I'm usually an iphone user but switching to the note. So I am Hopeing the note cost less than the iphone 6 on contract! How much was the note 3 on contract when that first came out?

P.s I know there are different tariffs and networks so you can't give me an exact price. I just want a rough price of what I can expect from the note 4.

Wonder how long Samsung will take with the android l update after its released... May wait til they roll it out as the prices should be a little more sensible by then too.
Will also feel like a properly "new" phone compared to my note 3 :)

Does anybody know how long after a phone is released that cases are made for them?

I really don't want to use the Note without a case or screen protector.

Quite a few appear just before launch, most on or very soon after launch. I've seen some Samsung covers due in a weeks time.
