**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

FYI

the Spigen Slim Armor Cover Case for Galaxy Note 4 works with the official QI back according to a post on XDA with multiple pics from all angles showing it off. everything also works as intended apart from the heart sensor but lets be honest who actually uses the heart sensor?

BTU will be out soon I guess, just got the ATO 5.1.1 update on my phone, it's an unlocked phone and last time I got the ATO update a day or so later BTU came out. Not bothered with installing BTU on mine as it came with ATO and seems to run great without all the problems people mention. 624.21MB update for 5.1.1 ATO Open Austria.

I'm not sure what region my 910C is, but I've just started downloading a 650.23MB update.

5.1.1 here I come.

Very odd - might explain the odd warranty stickers on the box with Russian/Eastern European language writing on.

Not had too much hands on time with the phone due to being at work, but the 10 mins or so I did get, I noticed the phone is a lot snappier and the recent apps lag is all but gone. Very very slick.

Enjoy, It brings a whole new life to N4. I too have Exynos & have the Polish Rom on mine & it's great.
I'm no fan of Lollipoop but the 5.1.1 is what it should have been on release.

Have Fun With Your 'New' Device.

Looking at getting a Note 4 as an upgrade from my Nexus 5 and i'm wondering is it better to get a N910C rather than the F?
Is there any difference in battery life? (SOT)

Well...captain inpatience struck again and I went and flashed the PHN flavour last night.

So far looks ok. Not had much of chance to fully check things out and get battery stats. Did a full charge over night so will no just let it run out with normal use and see how it gets on.

Am glad the Do Not Disturb has made it back too...really liked that feature and could not understand why it went away.

Still no RAW in camera option...but guess that is expected with Sammy pushing new phones.

Only weird one is that when pressing home key to bring up lock screen it seems to take a fraction of a second longer to wake the screen than prior to the update. Nothing major, just a small change

I'm so close to chucking this Note 4 in the bin.
Did a factory reset yesterday. No apps, accounts or anything installed on it. Took it off charge this morning at 05:00 and now at 13:00 it's at 20% battery remaining after 2 minutes of SOT. All battery usage was Android System.

Sick of it. Wish I'd never bought it.

Dang dude that must be a nightmare, buying a smartphone that works shouldn't be this hard, they need to abandon yearly iterations and just release a phone when it's READY for market.

That's just for the fingerprint scanner as I had the same. Turned fingerprint scanner off and it went back to normal.

I got completely sick of 8 hours (30mins SO time) battery life and random freezes, that I decided to sack the warranty and have stuck Echoe ROM on it.

Much much better. Can get 16 hours with 3 hours SO time out of it easily, and that coupled with the qualcomm quick chargers I've just bought has made a world of difference.

On another note, does anyone know of a decent car app that maps can run alongside? Something like Cardashboard but having half the screen with big buttons/music controls and the other half for nav? Can't seem to find anything

Been running KK as most of you know for quite a while now, due to LP being utter cack. Battery life has been superb until now...

Decided to install the Googles Photo's app to try out this camera roll backup feature/service. It's backed up my phone alright and done a stellar job of organising my 3000 odd images from over the years.

Now all of a sudden Android OS has decided to be a pain over the past two days and is reducing my battery to about 48% at the end of a working day. Normally the phone would be sat at 88%. No idea what is causing this just yet but its odd that it should happen after I install one of Google's finicky apps.

Temptation to move to iOS is just getting greater :( All I want is a sodding stable OS and I can't even get that, whilst the other side enjoys the latest updates easily.

This is exactly what I've done. Preordered a 6S+ to have a play with.

I just got sick of my Note 4, and Android in general, and thought I'd give something different a go. The lag (which took a full YEAR for Samsung to bother to fix), dire battery life, and random issues have been enough for me, for a £600 device I really shouldn't have to put up with issues like these, or spend as much time as I have trying and failing to fix them, just to get the phone running like it should have out of the box.

I'll happily trade a few features for the luxury of a stable, reliable system. Although saying that, I looked at what I use my Note 4, and there's not really anything on there that I can't do on iOS.

No need to jump ship, just get a nexus device and experience android the way it's meant to be, also don't have to wait 6+ months for the latest updates :p ;)

This is why I will never buy a Samsung phone, always so tempted to and was close to getting a note 4 a few months ago but resisted the temptation! Whilst they offer great things like OLED screens and superb cameras.... because of touchwiz, they always lag/stutter and generally have annoying niggles that let the phone down big time imo. Whilst nexus devices generally aren't as good as the top end flagships for things like the camera, the overall experience of stock android, stability/reliability, fast and guaranteed updates are far better imo.

I had the Nexus 5 before this, and it was nice, but the camera and battery were noticeably lacking.

The two Nexus phones this year look nice, but each has their flaws which put me off waiting for them. Plus the fact that it's all still rumours, without any solid release date yet.

So it just seems that the best option for a top-notch phone overall may be with the iPhone. But we'll see, Apple off a two week returns window, so if I find that I hate it I can return it very easily.

Ahh..can cope with that.

What I can't cope with and need to find a way of sorting is lock screen notifications. They now do not let the screen go off after set period. Had email before that came on and ate my battery with SOT as was in my pocket.

Anyone else had this and know how to get rid of it?

When my phome gets to 9/8% battery and I try to do something it'll just turn off. What is with this?!
