**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Not a lot, NFC and Bluetooth are off, screen was low brightness when reading but full brightness and always on when listening to music. Auto-adapt screen is off and smart stay is also off.

I hit 6 hours of screen on time yesterday with 20% left. That was with a few hours of streaming music and reading ebooks and general browsing.

I hit 5hrs something fairly recently so yeah I believe you there. Not sure how low I was battery wise at the time. The SoT isn't anywhere near what I'd get on rooted Kitkat but it's still quite good.

I had a more normal busy day today so 2 hours screen on time and 50% left when I got home. I didn't honestly think it would be this good but then I don't really use the note features much yet.

Mine updated to 5.1.1 and the only difference I've noticed is the font on my time in top right looks different and when sharing something I have to scroll left to right to select program and not down.

Guess I'm easily pleased cos it seems no different lol.

And my Note 4 has gone back to crappy battery life again. Today in 7hrs since it was unplugged I have 43% battery remaining with only 14 minutes of screen time. 79% battery used by applications and of that, 30% used by Android system.

I reboot mine every day now to keep it running well. Yesterday for example I was at 50-odd % battery at just gone 1am (phone unplugged at 9am). Today, I'm sitting at 60% at 3pm (unplugged again at 9am) and I've not even used the phone other than some sparse whatsapp'ing.

The moment it's been rebooted it just goes back to sipping battery.

So, junk software from Samsung leaving some runaway process then.
Oh well, 6P will be here soon and I can forget all about this phone.

I think this is my last Samsung device too - 5.1.1 is good but it just takes another crappy version to make everything rubbish again.

Took my phone off charge this morning at 6am been using it as normal browsing, Facebook, bit of YouTube and music etc. and now at 7:30pm it's on 72% I'm happy with that :)

In future I might look at the nexus phones as I'd quite like a more stock Google experience along with quick updates.

Thats amazing! Doing anything special?

Since selling my Note 4, I've had the S6/S6 Edge/S5/iPhone 5/ iPhone 6 to try, but I ended up deciding to go back to Note 4 so will be getting this delivered most likely on Tuesday.

Just seems that after so much exploring that the Note series ticks all the boxes for me, I was tempted with Note 5 but I think I'd rather wait to see what the next gen will provide instead (i.e. Note 6).

Not really, if I'm at home I'll turn mobile data off that's about it, doing the same on my SG3 would have me down to 20% in the same time frame with same usage so definitely a massive difference for me. Love the phone just not keen on all the bloat and slow updates and of course wether and when we'll get Marshmallow 6.

Never used one, but I thought you had to 'mount' it first? (I saw an option somewhere)

Settings > Storage > scroll to bottom

Will have to get one soon, running out of space myself

Well.....after a fair few crashes of TouchWiz, have now gone back to using Nova and feel much happer about things.

Have had an issue where my notification LED was not coming on, but think this was down to removing Macrodroid after it had disabled the LED...

All that said, I am now finding myself waving away from Samsung. Having only just got 5.1.1, my gut feeling is that this may be the last update for the Note 4. A hoping that they can to actually putting Marshmallow out for it, but am not going to hold my breath.

Have 12 months left on my phone plan, so will hang on until the end, but am not sure whta to do at the end of it all. I can feel one part of me wanting to try an iPhone again...... Who knows what will be round in 12 months time, but if the next itteration of the Note is similar to the 5, then I will not be going for it. Am not liking the fact of not having the SD card slot (yep, I know the iPhone does not have one either, but am not sold on that one) Have a linking for the Z5P, but not fully looked at it all.
