****The Official Note III Thread****

Apparently it's intereference from WiFi. Turn WiFi off (check it's properly off in advanced settings) and it seems to fix it.

Can't decide whether to send this one back and try and buy another, or just live with turning WiFi off. (Well, Llama will turn it off for me when the camera app launches)

If you're not happy with it, send it back and keep sending it back until you have one that you're happy with.

I always expect things at this price to be perfect and if they're not, I keep sending them back until I get one I'm happy with (lucky Amazon are so good at returns and replacements).

Its dead!!!

So today at lunch it turned itself off and on again, didn't think anything of it. Used it after that and it's been faultless but in the past two hours while it's been in my pocket it has just died!!

It won't turn on our do anything, I've plugged it in and nothing's happening!!

I guess I will have to go back to three tomorrow. Not impressed I only picked it up on Saturday night!!!

Have you tried plugging it in, leave it for a bit then hold the power button and release, that will shut it down then hold power and it should boot up. Also try taking battery out, you may have done all of the above :-(

I'm not to sure about getting 1 of these now think I'll stick with my s3 for now they seem to have a few to many problems for a top of the range phone hopefully they'll have a few updates or patches to fix the problems if it's down to software and not hardware I'll think about it again in a few months

"few too many problems"? Like? The problem with a dead handset above is not exclusive to the Note 3 and other makes and models have had such problems over time too.

This handset has been out for ages now and any such common problems will have shown themselves long ago.

Mac's problem is with a faulty handset that's died. It happens as unfortunate as it is.

Surprised you didn't skip the S3 considering that the S3 actually had a well known and documented Sudden Death Syndrome fault.

I understand where your coming from but it's the camera issue that puts me off believe it or not the s3 has been bullet proof to me surprising really as I use it at work and it does get its fair share of abuse but not a single scratch on it had it for 14 months now (have got through 2 cases for it tho)

From the above i get the same when I take a picture it says processing. How can you stop this? On the reviews they don't do this.

You guys need to learn about your devices.

The processing is there because you have low light mode on.

Put it in normal mode and pics are instant, no processing delay.

Kona thats why we asked!

Biff I wouldn't be put off by the sudden death of mine. I am disappointed and will be going into three shortly to sort it out but this could have happened with any phone.

Prior to the death it was a huge step up from the S3, so much quicker, the screen is fantastic. Roll on getting a replacement today so I can flog my S3.

SImply disabling Bluetooth and GPS when not in use has resulted in a big gain in battery life for me, weird as these options have never attributed in battery consumption simply being left on in previous versions of Android on any handset (below KitKat anyway).

82% after 9 hours and 1.5hrs screen on time so far. Normally I'd be at around 70% on KitKat by this time with BT and GPS enabled but not necessarily "active".

Bizarre. Location reporting is always off for me, I don't use Google Now either and my weather apps etc are set to long 12 hour intervals for refresh so those aren't using GPS either enough to be an issue

Anyway, with this new found knowledge I'll be enabling them on ad hoc basis from now on.

Yup just read it and done it, had to break the Knox but i was going to do it at some point anyway, should do until Samsung fixes it and then the Home button on my Spigen should work as well, better then nothing!

Can anyone link to the S View case? Thanks.

**EDIT ** Also, people have mentioned staying 'stock' but then using Xposed Framework to alter appearance/features. I've been looking through XDA and I can't find it. Any chance of a link to a tutorial of some kind? Ta.

You'll find the Wanam Xposed app on Play Store :)

As for the app itself, update today adds fade/CRT animations although I much prefer the fade animation.

Fade vs CRT:

Fade always...had that on my S4 AOSP ROM. So classy.

CRT is soo dated!
