mrk - are you leaving yours in exFAT?

I normally convert to FAT32 for compatibility with other devices but may just leave it this time
 
managed 22 down and 7.5 up earlier on 4G :)

loving my Note 3 - but one big snag

youtube videos play terribly - any ideas please ? With youtube app -whether in SD or HD - it lags (not re-buffers) like the CPU/GPU can't keep up (the more complex on screen the slower the frame-rate) - the sound breaks up too (again like CPU/GPU can't keep up)

youtube in browser is much smoother (although not totally)

videos played via Netflix, media players fine

I tried rolling back to original Youtube version, then tried going back to latest, tried deleting cache, and forced 2d acceleration in dev settings - all to no avail

any ideas please?

Yup I don't have anything using FAT32 any more, everything is exFAT or NTFS.
 
Cheers - can exFAT be read if the phone is mounted to a TV/Media player?

Try Viral player - It does HD over mobile data and you can customise the colours:

No reason why a TV/Media player won't see it. Depends on whatever the player supports. I've not had a problem though I use wireless streaming using DLNA/mirroring (either Samsung beaming over wireless or Allcast app).
 
I have an SD card related question. The phone can see the card, it can list the files, but I try and open one and I get 'media not found' or something along those lines. Any ideas?
 
Sounds like a dodgy media scanner, there are media scanner apps on the store to force a media scan - If it works after running one of those then that will confirm it.

That was quick, mymemory are now out of stock of the 128GB cards lol. Glad I ordered as soon as the in stock email came in!

Well i'll be getting my note 3 shortly,is there way to root without tripping KNOX? whats currently the best bug free rom to install?.

May have solved my "Media" battery drain. A while back I started backing up local storage contents to SD card and then running the SD card backup to PC so essentially the entire phone is backed up.

Included in the local > SD was WhatsApp, which contains hundreds of videos and well over 6000 pictures.

I guess that being copied to the SD card made the Android Media Scanner go loony consuming 2~ hours of battery time through an average day.

A quick creation of .nomedia at the root of the backup folder and that should be that.
 
still in awe ref the battery life of these things

ok not been playing games,but plenty of web browsing, music listening, internet shopping, and phone calls

and on this 2nd charge - I'm at 1d 7 hrs, with 36% left :)

Best launcher these days? Touchwiz, shudder

O and what's the best cover? I have a tendancy to drop my phone and don't want this one ruined. S-View?

On my 2nd charge too. the battery just lasts forever.
Picked up a cheap case and screen protector. will probably get the s-view next month.

Disabled a bunch of crap and installed nova launcher.
 
My wife seems to have a problem where charging seems really slow, luckily its insane battery life means she is surviving but it is going to run out eventually. Going to try the official charger and cable to see if that makes a difference
