Just had a play with a note 3. Fantastic bit of kit. 3GB of RAM!!! Screen is amazing also! Touch screen is very responsive!

Impressions vs the Note 2:

- Feels a lot more premium.
- The back doesn't feel like leather, it's more rubbery matte texture reminds me of the matte dash texture and feel of my E46. It feels good and will not slip.
- Much lighter in the hand and better feel grip wise than the N2.
- Easier to use one handed due to the slimmer dimensions and loss of weight.
- Screen quality is better than N2, screen is brighter and sharper.

They are selling it from tomorrow for £619 but were prepared to sell it today on request.

Physically yes. Software wise most of the stuff will come to Note 2 anyway and with custom ROMs etc for someone like me, little difference.

It's the hardware I've always been interested in anyway.

Already said, a month or so after it drops well below £600.

I'm interested to know this too as I'm Orange/EE. My contract actually isn't due until the New Year. I know they used to offer 3 months le-way (so would bring me to down to early October / next week), but what is it nowadays? Is it halved to 45 days?

Also, will the smartwatch option be part of a phone contract or do you buy it separately?
 
i am out of contract, undecided. can get 20% off vodafone as well, but interested in three as a network, gonna trial them for 1 month and see what the signal is like
 
SO I have my Note 3 and Gear.

First impressions? The Note 3 has all the features of the S4 - all of them - including the air view without the S-Pen - but is of course also has that with the pen.

Lots of settings are off by default as well.

The screen looks fantastic and I agree the back feels like leather if you brush your hands over it and don't linger on it as then you realise it isn't leather but is a much more premium finish.

The Gear is amazing... I made a call from it. I was able to take snap-chats and send them right away, same with Evernote. S-Voice is semi-useful on the Gear and it is awesome how you get notifications from the phone.

If anyone has questions I will be happy to answer...
 
Hoping I'll be able to upgrade soon, I stupidly got rid of my Note II and moved to a Windows Phone which I utterly hate. I really miss the screen size which is something I never thought would happen!
 
I got them from Samsung direct. £798 for both. I actually bought a cheap PAYG phone to get a £50 discount as well but they never asked for it. I now wish I had bought it from a store that did refunds! lol

have you got any pinkish hue on a white background? mine has this on the bottom 1/3 of the screen, not sure whether to return it or not, it's a pain as the phone itself is amazing!
