My Note 2 is staying with me on the £15p.m. Virgin Media unlimited sim only deal for a good while yet. Or until I read all of your amazing reviews tempting me away from it anyway.

Unless you can get a blinding deal or you just really want the cutting edge, it's always best to skip a generation.

i was hoping the likes of the nexus4 would bring the cost of phones down, but all the big players have ignored it.

I am very interested in this as out of contract but waiting for the Nexus5 info first

Over the phone they said Wednesday, in the shop they just said "by the end of the month" they did have one in a display case - shame you couldn't play with it :p

also it was 500/5000/unlim.

I can handle £34 pm - shame about the £99 charge for the phone

They also have the Z1 in too, that did look good £34 pm again

Don't know if there is the possibility of haggling with them :)

I've seen the G2 for £26 pm and free phone, which does make it substantially cheaper over 2 years
 
maan, i am getting a lil too twitchy and impatient now..

pre-ordered mine through Expansys at the start of last week, order status says in progress but now im getting this funny inkling that Expansys aren't going to deliver on time (25th).

anyone else ordered with expansys before and know what theyre like?, thinking of just cancelling the preorder and risking trying to pick one up from cpw or p4u on wednesday...
 
I cancelled my expansys pre order, they said they may not have it to me on release day, and added £30 so screw um.

Phones4u here I come on the 25th
 
good call diargo, think ill be doing the same myself. might keep it on preorder, grab one at p4u and then cancel just after. *just in case* p4u run out
 
If your want it on release just go through Samsung.

You would have to pick it up in person from Stratford but come on its guaranteed. I'll be in there Wednesday evening (when I finish work) with my Note 3 and Gear and can't wait.
 
I'm thinking if an upgrade from my Note 1. I don't use the s-pen but use it for absokuteky everything else from messaging to calls to satnav to videos to camera, etc. However it seems cheaper to get something off contract such as a nexus 4 and also a nexus 7 tablet. That would give the benefit of a more portable phone and also a portable larger screened tablet.

I'd be interested in people's opinions, especially those that have made the switch in either direction. Thanks.
 
I went from a Note 1 to an N4, tbh you get what you pay for, I was satisfied with the N4 but it isn't up to the level of a true flagship from a top make, particularly in the camera dept, so I went from a Note to an N4 and N7 now I have an s4 and want a decent 10 inch tab, I'd rather have a Note 3 than a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7 but the Nexus 5 is an unknown quantity so may be a wait is in order.
 
Just had an email from Samsung regarding pre orders.

First off the phone and gear are available tonight from 6pm at Stratford.

I originally ordered a white gear but they don't have white available today so I am going to have black instead but as a coutesy of having to change my order I am also getting a free s view case for the note 3 which costs around £50 so that's a nice freebie as well.
 
Stratford store will have it on sale for £629 which is just too high but fair play to those who are prepared to have it at that price. The trade in for any phone there is £50, I enquired if they'd give me more for my Note II to which they said no, all phones traded in £50.... Maybe I should raid the cupboard for a Nokia 3210... Haha.

Anyway, I'll be getting mine in a few weeks when the price is well below £600.
 
Phones4u have it for contract only... Refusing to sell it sim free an said it will be November before it will be sim free.. Where the hell am I supposed to get this phone without using Internet, this lets samsung done majorly when UK retailers are refusing to actually sell it
 
I already have a contract on three and don't want to start a pay as you go thing
They doing full contracts only, I had a go and said they new to call Hq as I have been told over past 14 days I can have one when they arrive no problem sim free
 
Pay and go would be no different to sim free, just ditch the pay&go sim. My Note 2 was bought as a pay&go bundle for £460 simply because the sim free option was £500 at Phones4u.
 
Thats what I am doing. Giving them a useless 10 year old Nokia. They didn't state any restrictions on trade ins so why not.

Then you take £50 off and you get £579 for an unlocked Note 3.
