****The Official Note III Thread****

It certainly is plastic! But most definitely doesn't feel like it's going to break or even scratch easily :)

Just a heads up, my mate went into the three store and managed to get them to waive the £99 up front cost and got it for free on the £34 a month internet 500 tariff.

Finally managed to get one from O2 shop today, it's a stunning upgrade from my SGS2. I just forgot how much I don't like touchwiz :/

I finding the new plug socket at the bottom of the phone a real pain. I have my little finger over the socket when I'm holding it to support the phone (as I did with my Note 2) but it's got quite a sharp edge to it, after an extended period of use it feels like my skin from my finger has been worn away. That part of the phone doesn't seem very well thought out ergonomically.

Other than that the phone would appear to be awesome as expected :D

The global search is excellent, just like Windows 7/8 search inline.

I've got Google Now enabled so a quick long press of Menu on the homescreen loads Google Now but continue to hold and Samsung global search loads. The best thing is global search will appears anywhere over any app so you can launch apps or find anything or anyone from any app, just long press Menu.

As much as Touchwhiz as a whole is dislikeable for its colour choice of stuff like toggles and the dark grey top bar instead of stock black, it has to be commended for all these little things that are really useful that no other phone has the same way.

Do you work for Samsung?

Edit*
No I do not work for Samsung. I'm just extremely thorough and have listed the stuff I don't like already anyway if you read back. I do the same for anything whether I bought it or was sent it. It might be a lot of money but I don't put much thought into that as it doesn't matter, if it's something you really want and like then who cares how much it costs (within reason of course).

The sound chip in this isn't forgiving of poor music encodes. Mp3 songs I have that were downloaded at lower bitrates sounded fine on the Note II but on this you can hear how poorly they're encoded.

On quality encodes and Flac files it's superb though and as someone on another forum said, it sounds like the kind of quality you get from a valve headphone amplifier.

Being a professional musician music is so important to me on a portable device, this audio chip in the note 3 is outstanding, and I am used to listening through hd650 headphones with a graham slee headphone amp!

I have the S View case. and OMG i am impressed.

Adds some bulk to the case but i can forgive that, the little screen is amazing hahaha.
