I'm using a spigen oleophobic screen protector, and its been great, the stylus works really nicely on it, it hasn't scratched, and is super clear.

Also, the Samsung s-view cover has been working out really well, if a tad pricey.

...The "other ½" picked up one today from the Carphone Warehouse, free tab 3 as well, which was nice.
She chose red but we're having a hard time finding a case in red for it. Would prefer the official Samsung flip cover, normal or sview, Just can't seem to find any.

Where should we be looking for these, or indeed a similar quality alternative?

after a day of usage - impressed so far

(1) white colour is a non-issue - I was worried about reflectivity of it in the sun, but it doesn't reflect much at all - screen reflects far more. The white - like I found in store when demoing both white and black - somehow seems more "matt" than the black

(2) screen lovely - snappy performance - all good

(3) no reception issues yet, no issues at all in that regard. Even managed 18mb earlier on enhanced 3G - thats very impressive

(4) fits in pocket much better than expected - the thin-ness helps no end

(5) battery life - first impressions - superb

only negatives

(i) screen doesn't seem to do "whites" as well as my Iphone 4 - I've turned off the auto-tone which helped, and reading mode is off, but even still, whites look a bit muddy/yellow compared to that of a LCD. Not a problem though

(ii) perhaps very slight screen flicker occasionally noticeable - but I'm very sensitive to that sort of thing - never noticed it on my Iphone 4 display

(iii) Audio quality - whilst touted as being as good as the Iphones - my initial impression using Spotify (as I listen to my music virtually) - is that its not as good - its not bad and better than any other Android devices I've listened to - but its not Iphone standard IMO. Might get an external DAC which would solve any issues.

(iv) Although phone fits in pocket well - I'm finding have to be a bit more careful when "sitting/bending knees" - its fine - but have to be more careful than with a smaller phone
 
Hey guys. Been offered a gold one (yuk) for £300 brand new. Does the black official flip case cover the gold?

Also how are the updates done to this. Is kit kat out yet ?

And any known bugs or issues ?
 
...Depends on what you class as a good deal. Carphone Warehouse are still doing £32.99 a month, unl texts, unl mins, 1gb data, free phone and free tab3. That was on Orange.
 
Not seen it yet. But yeah its gold I hear. Comes with official flip case. I can have the watch for an extra £50 but no real need. Are updates OTA or will I need that keys software I had with the s2 ?
 
Ok picked up the note3. Its black with gold edge. Feels weird after using a nexus5, which for all its shortcoming is super snappy. Will see how I get on and sure I will get my money back if it's not for me.

Performance isn't something the Note 3 lacks that's for sure.

Disable all the bloat in the app manager, slap on Nova, enable gpu acceleration in dev settings then sit back and enjoy.
