don't be so facetious

the 1180 won't have the die shrink/ twice the transistors as the previous gen so it's an irrelevant comparison

Nobody knows exactly what specs he Volta milk edition x80 card will have. Only thing that's certain is it'll be a lot faster than the 1080 and not cheap.

I'm out at that price. I could afford it, but I would think twice about buying at that price even if I was a millionaire :p

Should have kept the 980ti. Took the gamble and lost this time.

I've installed the gtx 970 I got today to at least put me on to the 1070 now, unless they are silly money too. Miss that 980ti grunt though.

Let's just hope sales are really poor and prices drop soon.

I'm a bit gutted. The worst part is that I might not even get a cheap second hand 980ti as consolation now everyone seems to be changing their mind!

I bought myself some headphones mentioned in the sound forum as retail therapy :)

I'm prepared to pay £150- 175 to get one with the sale of my 980ti...

That means they need to be 525 ...550

I don't think this is unrealistic once the hype ends...

If one can buy a FE for 619 I reckon I could get an EVGA for 550 in a few weeks

Sadly gamers have shown time and time again they will bend over and take whatevers given to them.

A custom MSI twin frozr or similar with a 6+8pin for around 525-550 and yes I might be tempted.

I swear i remember hearing that nvidia are pricing the "founders edition" higher than normal because they dont want to compete with AIBs when it comes to selling cards which is why its priced higher and you pay the premium to get the card early hence why they are now calling it founders edition!

Not sure how much truth is in this but we may see after market cards slightly cheaper. TBH id wait for after market cards and reviews before making final conclusions on this card/GPU

Though with after market cards id expect on average people may find 2.1Ghz the sweet spot with possibly 2.2 being achievable. Time will tell!

Yeah custom cards with their fancy coolers, better power delivery systems, extra 8 Pins, and overclocked to the hilt, are going to be way cheaper than a stock reference card :p

You might be in for a weight. It doesn't look like stock will be great on these. The whole paper launch doesn't fill me with much confidence. With this in mind prices could possibly go up.

People might hit me with their old cards, but it is nearly summer FFS! Surely a few weeks extra wait for AIB cards is not such a biggie. Plus if Polaris ever gets launched, and is even mildly competitive with the GTX1070,it should mean better pricing at least at that level.

Nvidia is banking on people wanting new shiny and is adding their own early adopters retail markup to the early adopters retail markup.

This to be honest. Sounds like AIB's have to be pretty tight lipped about their custom versions so Nvidia can maximise the profits on these nonsense founders cards.

I fully expect to see more reasonable prices on good custom versions come the end of June.

That will have to happen or they really won't sell many at all.
