** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Just read the Guru 3D review of the GTX 1080 FE. Good review, fair. Especially the part about Nvidia making the founders tier and pricing it higher.

The important bit, performance is awesome, absolutely smashing the TX in all games with a clear lead.

As I trust Guru 3D more than that sneak peak thing, I am happy to go for one of these bad boys. Just not the FE edition lol.

Zotac AMP Extreme is first choice, then the ASUS Strixx. Hopefully OCUK have these in stock today..

I will be really disappointed if it has one power connector. I had great plans for it.

More interesting are the 4k results for Shadow of Mordor.

I am really torn to whether this is an actual upgrade over the 980Ti or not.

Clearly from the photos (which aren't fake) it DOES have just the one power connector. However, I speculate this MAY offer a pricing clue. If many of these custom cards don't actually perform THAT much better than the FE, it's quite possible they could come in on the cheaper end (still around £575-625 though). This will be offset by the likes of the EVGA FTW (and similar offerings from other AIB's) with an extra power connector providing superior performance than the FE but at a higher price (£650+).

Good shout on the price, but realistically i'm going to hold out for the two connector versions like many others as i'm after two cards to run in SLI and want to push those overclocks so its a good upgrade on my 980Ti (single) right now.

Does anyone know what happened historically on EVGA versions, does the FTW/Classy etc come out as one or staggered?

Reviewers are already finishing their tests, but I’m not sure when NDA really ends. From what I heard GTX 1070 performs almost on par with GTX 980 Ti

Doesn't beat it then.

if the classy is a custom pcb maybe it will be out later yeh
the ftw will be the same time

& i think ppl might need to be a little careful thinking two 8pins will solve all their overclocking woes, we will need to wait for reviews on that

Custom versions might, and regardless, it's the price which counts... if it comes in well under £400 it's going to be a steal. I have a feeling we may not be that lucky though, given how the 1080 pricing has worked out. We'll have a better idea later today, and if the custom 1080's end up in, around and above the FE price, that really doesn't bode well for the 1070 at all!

Doesn't make sense not to sell non FE editions today, rather two weeks later. 1070 will be out and if by that reckoning, a week or so later for £100 less versions. Double up 1070 for same price as 1080 for more power? This is all so sneaky..

Yes, but it won't stop them charging a fortune for the card regardless!! These 2-pin custom editions are going to be the most expensive 1080's, no question, second only to the Hybrid's when they're eventually released.

I think I'm going to wait until MSI reveal their 1080 at Computex. I understand it's subjective but all these cards look terrible.

Give me a black/red Twin Frozr any day of the week. :D.
