Even if you ignore the price of the players this year, I'm finding it so much harder to pick a side.
In previous years you always had a few bankers in each position that you knew would play regularly and score big points; the likes of Fabregas, Gerrard and Lampard in midfield and Torres, Drogba, Rooney and Tevez up front. Of those 7 players, Rooney's probably the safe bet to play week in week out and score the sort of points he has in previous seasons. If you look at all the £9m+ forwards, Suarez, Bent and Rooney are the only 3 that I'd even consider buying; the others are either crocks (RVP), likely to leave (Tevez) or it's too unclear as to whether they'll play regularly to justify paying so much for them.
