Double checking for O week but are we having only "oak aged beers" or are all barrel aged beers acceptable? (as mine doesn't specify what the barrel its been aged in was made of but I am pretty sure you can't store rum in a non oak barrel)

Oak aged, cask. Most will be oak but I doubt it will matter in any case.

Has the way the scrabble week works been explained yet?

Yes :)

Beer name only and each letter of the name will be awarded points based on the scrabble word game scoring:

1 point: E, A, I, O, N, R, T, L, S, U
2 points: D, G
3 points: B, C, M, P
4 points: F, H, V, W, Y
5 points: K
8 points: J, X
10 points: Q, Z

If say your beer name is worth a total of 56 points you will get 5 points added to your competition score. 61 points = 6 simples :)
