I am having great fun on Facebook today. Loving it.

Tell me about it. There's someone on mine who is of great hilarity. She is actually using the word, apocalypse, to describe what's happened. Also, the whole thing has been a hate campaign from leave, we're all racists and she is emigrating.

Stop talking rubbish.

You know what the jungle is, don't you?
A staging camp for those who wish to claim asylum in Britain.
We have a deal with France that we keep them on the French side while we very, very slowly process them.
As currently refugees can claim asylum anywhere in Europe, including Britain and are allowed freedom of travel t anywhere to claim.

This isn't immigration, this isn't EU freedom of movement of EU citizens.
When we leave, that camp will go, the people who will be claiming asylum will be moved to the country they wish to claim it in.
Britain.

So either we process them quick smart, and either approve or reject them before we Brexit, or then we'll have them in the UK, and we'll have to process them then.

What part of what I have said do you consider to be rubbish?
What part of that current agreement do yo not understand?
What part of that agreement do you think we stand when we actually leave?

Looks like there is a petition on the government petition website for another referendum, that 60% vote is needed if the turnout is less than 75%, to change things.

They had a petition to keep Donald Trump out of the UK too, he's just flown into Scotland today. This is more of the same, sore liberals trying to get attention.

May be overlooked as thread is moving so fast but are there any real figures for the amount of EEA citizens who voted and people in general who didn't live on mainland Britain? I know one of the early results was Gibraltar voting heavily in but have been unable to find other figures because I assume they are counted under the general voting etc

I'm enjoying the totalitarian response in the face of democracy from the remain voters on my FB but I honestly can't be bothered joining in the baiting and bickering. I'm incredibly surprised at the turnout, I though apathy would rule the day if I'm honest.

Regardless of how it pans out over the next 2 years or decade I don't think anyone will realise the magnitude of the events today until many years in the future.

Glad we fixed for 5 years, so still got 4 years for things to stabilise.

that won't be long enough

2 years say from october for article 50 will eat half of that then you'll have 2 years where no one has a clue what will happen. But if the BofE are still in control of interest rates in the UK they will do what ever it takes to steady the boat and that could end up in pain for a lot of mortgagees for a lengthy period of time.
