It's no longer a case of "if Scotland leaves" but "when Scotland leaves"; if an independence referendum were held tomorrow the Yes vote would win in a landslide, even staunch Unionists have switched to the Nationalist camp.

If Scotland ditches us how will they survive, how will they have the money to continue with free higher education, dentistry, prescriptions and optical care. Their oil and gas industry is on its last legs and there's no guarantees the EU will take them.

Right now Scotland is totally reliant on Westminster.

Not at all.... Their job is done. The leave camp are not the government. This has bee. Said infinitely in these threads already.

You don't think it's somewhat irresponsible to run a campaign on the side of one desired outcome, heavily hint towards how people could be better off if they get their way, and then when it happens go "we aren't the government mate go and ask them what their plan was"?

I have to admit I am somewhat angry still

I have had this argument with my dad that his generation had it easy, from pensions to council houses to having £100 per month mortgages .. Cheap housing that were in supply.... to having free movement.... Free university education etc.

From the results we see that the below 40s supported remain. Was it for 20-25 year old that figures goes to 75% remain. Whilst I understand everyone should be able to vote I am annoyed that yet again the older generation has reeped all the benefits and now its us lot to pick up the pieces.

(before its pointed out... Yes I know there will be some young voters who voted leave, but statistics for the majority of young said differently)
Because we have felt the changes the most, you haven't. Stop worrying about you, all young, full of you know what and your life ahead of you. Build something better. The older generation, you know the bloke and girl who got you here and their mum and dad got you this far. Over to you now, in the grand scale of things the world is still your oyster so when you all get back from some concert start working out what your contribution will be. Kids before you put their lives on the line to give you this voice, over to you now :)

Got to laugh at the people treating this like a football match where their team lost or won. Nobody is exempt from the fallout on this one. Being on the 'winning' side is meaningless.

Quite. It's cringe, but mostly so on social media sites like fb and twitter though.

The average Leave voter I'm afraid :(

What's your point? They seem like ordinary members of the public. Unless you're implying they're all thick due to their unfortunate accents...?

So what did the 'young' lose today you're so bitter about? A cheap jolly up in Magaluf and getting to walk through the EU gates?

Sounds to me like they have their boogeyman for the next 20 years.

We lost nothing, Im hopeful we are set to gain a lot but.. Time will tell if someone grabs the now loose ship by the helm and puts us on course for a better future as a country.

The markets did the inevitable.. Worry this morning and stabilize later on and slowly recover. EU members have had there comments about there dissapointment but also saying it is a wakeup call..

Wake up people this is the beginning of a revolution which may kill the EU if more members follow suit

Britain is the world's 5th largest economy.

And therefore fully able to captain its own ship.

Do you think in twenty years we might look back and remember when we was the 5th biggest economy?

It's strange you should use a ship reference and the economy. You first need a crew to captain.

Hah, you still had half your benefits, soon you'll have none.

And yes, yes you are on your own.

These people have no idea what they have let themselves in for.

I'm still quite surprised that until yesterday, the OCUK poll was quite heavily in favour of Leave, and now it's the opposite...

It is amazing how many people don't see this.

Instead a lot of them just see it as, no, it was all you stupid poor uneducated racists and bigots who have cost us membership of the EU.

Well they can't be that stupid and uneducated if they have beat the so called intelligent middle class and the rich and now they don't like it.

Remain have been very poor losers, despite having all the advantages.

They were definitely smart enough to assess their situation, and see through the nonsense from remain.

The poor kicked back for once and the rich didn't like it one little bit.

We need much more of this in Britain.

No, what we need is people to realise what **** they are doing and stop talking absolute nonsense.

Okay so in Norn iron, only one party campaign for Leave, the DUP, so in theory, that's another great result for them, they lost the local vote, but they turned the polls for a 70% remain to a 56% remain instead, a great swing for this wondrous party.

Now I have read this.

Could someone please explain to me, how they are going to be front and centre of the negotiations for us? Just how is a small party with 1 MEP, and few MPs going to have any effect on what the Leavers now try to negotiate?

I know politicians like to make statements and reassuring statements at that, but this seems even more guff than the NHS promise was. Thoughts people?

As previously mentioned, we are all losers.

The poor have had it relatively easy up to now and are going to really lose, they are about to get the full Greek experience.
