If Scotland leaves and Ireland leaves, it might as well be this...
It's no longer a case of "if Scotland leaves" but "when Scotland leaves"; if an independence referendum were held tomorrow the Yes vote would win in a landslide, even staunch Unionists have switched to the Nationalist camp.

I have to admit I am somewhat angry still

I have had this argument with my dad that his generation had it easy, from pensions to council houses to having £100 per month mortgages to having free movement.... Free university education etc.

From the results we see that the below 40s supported remain. Was it for 20-25 year old that figures goes to 75% remain. Whilst I understand everyone should be able to vote I am annoyed that yet again the older generation has reeped all the benefits and now its us lot to pick up the pieces.

:-/

Not really. The older generation as you put it are your parents and grandparents. It may pain you to know this but they know how the world works. They have an equal say in matters as you.

If as much effort had been put into this as should be imo on removing University fees for successful students then there would be no question. Maybe we should organize a referendum to have free university and use some of the money?

I've just realised...I'm dual nationality British and Irish I have two passports...

My Irish passport will allow me free to move within the EU :p

So will your British passport. It's living in EU countries that will be presumably more difficult.

Oh well, most of Europe is a dump anyway. Still nice to have the option but there you go. Will just have to get a visa or two now if ever we had plans to move to another EU country. Was easy as hell to get one for NZ. Hopefully it'll be the same for wherever else I choose to go.

Britain is the world's 5th largest economy.

And therefore fully able to captain its own ship.

Not if the captain(s) have no clue where they are headed other than "anywhere but here".

Besides ..... globalisation. We're unable to captain our own ship anyway, not because of the EU but because the vast swathe of British industry (what there is left of it), assets, utilities and property are foreign owned.

There's a big wake up call inbound. But hey, at least we're shot of the terrible EU eh?

Welcome to the real World, that's how its always been.

Got to laugh at the people treating this like a football match where their team lost or won. Nobody is exempt from the fallout on this one. Being on the 'winning' side is meaningless.

So.. today? I laughed when he called for this to be a bank holiday.. Although i don't think he's mental for once on a suggestion

Well he's got to work out a tariff on Chinese made canons and find out if he needs to apply for an EU Visa to shoot people over EU member states.

(before its pointed out... Yes I know there will be some young voters who voted leave, but statistics for the majority of young said differently)

So what did the 'young' lose today you're so bitter about? A cheap jolly up in Magaluf and getting to walk through the EU gates?

Sounds to me like they have their boogeyman for the next 20 years.

I bet Biohazard is cheering at the chance for another independence referendum! :)

Gawd just think of all the looooong posts in SC ;)

But yes i think another crack fo Scotland seems inevitable.

Well we just got some fallout first hand, someone round to view the house said they were no longer thinking of buying until the markets had stabilised and to see if house prices tanked. Git :p

I think the funniest one is from the people who feel the need to belittle people who voted Leave.

They need to take a hard long look in the mirror and maybe consider; could it be this ignorant attitude that caused them to vote leave?

Housing market tanking would finally signal a recovery can start.

Feel free to describe yourself as stupid. I assume you mean 'realise'? As for how the poor see it, I think they've realised that whatever happens they're worse off, and you can't blame them for thinking that way. So they've opted for a change.

GB got kicked out of the EU not by the 'stupid and poor' as you term them but by the rich, greedy, power-hungry ***** you voted in support of.

They just couldn't share a bit could they?

You hint at selfishness and short-sightedness from the poor, I wonder who they learned who they learned those traits from?

It is amazing how many people don't see this.

Instead a lot of them just see it as, no, it was all you stupid poor uneducated racists and bigots who have cost us membership of the EU.

Well they can't be that stupid and uneducated if they have beat the so called intelligent middle class and the rich and now they don't like it.
