Gawd the BBC coverage this evening is pretty terrible. Phrases likes "the pound has crashed" and "the markets have plummeted".

Seems like very over dramatic reporting, but thats just me.

Sorry for late replies guys,

My reasons to leave were:

- The EU relies too much on us as a country.
- The EU offers nothing to us really.
- We give too much money to other countries.
- There is no control on the flux of migration, more so over recent years.
- Great britain was exactly that, Great before the EU came along we will do fine without the EU.
- By staying in the EU just encourages more migrants which puts even more of a strain on the country, houses, jobs etc, voting out helps secure the future generations.
- No longer should we have to follow and listen to whats PC (politically correct) with the EU telling us about human rights and everything, this country has hardly been a freedom of speech for years because everything has become PC. Now we can have a voice of our own and truly be independent.
- Surely by leaving the EU we dont have to keep giving so much foreign aid. I don't mind the country helping others a little here and a little there but why should we be a cash cow for every other country?
- Staying in the EU would continue to open the doors to the likes of Turkey and Syria where it would only cause more problems, terrorist threats etc.
- David Cameron, I just cannot stand the guy, or Osborne or Corbyn they are all just liars.
- Staying in the EU only benefits the rich people and bankers etc.

So those are essentially the reasons I voted out, I feel the country needs a change, we need to be Great Britain again, we managed before the EU and will manage again without. Only the EU benefits from the UK, not us.

I have always followed politics/voting with a close eye but never felt like my opinion or vote would matter but this I strongly felt I needed to vote on with my reasons above been the main points.

RACIST!!!!!!! Just kidding, great post Toon_Mad.

Because I don't want to leave all my friends and family, start a new job, learn a new language etc?

Before the EU brought in the law over 2 million people worked full time with zero paid leave in the UK, we have no precedence of providing workers rights off our own backs.

Our employment laws and rules exceed those of the EU.

Sad thing is, the educated, more well-off demographic that voted fairly convincingly to remain are also best placed to navigate the difficulties and take advantage of any new opportunities that Brexit presents, whereas the generally less-educated and poorer leave demographic are going to face the brunt of the economic impact and have far less opportunity and tools to help them navigate it. No doubt however the scapegoat will be transferred to whatever is most convenient - probably whatever unfortunate incumbent government that negotiates and agrees the terms of exit will be accused of "selling the country short" or "not being tough enough" in negotiations.

Precisely - I certainly think your final point has some legs to it. I worry that the blame will simply be easily shifted on to another party once the poor terms of our trade deals become known.

Disturbing lack of faith in this country from the remainers.

The question should never be can this country survive outside the EU because it's a ludicrous question. Of course it can, why on earth couldn't it? The important question is would this country have been better off one way or the other. And that is something neither side will truly be able to convince the other of.

Human rights aren't affected by Brexit. Neither is the foreign aid budget, unless we don't have the money to spare any more.

It seems like a lot of your reasons to leave were based on a fantasy idea of what the EU is or could turn into as opposed to the reality of the situation.

Maybe it's because leaving the EU will do nothing to fix the UK problems and a lot of people know this.

Also settle down Drath Vader.

Nobody expects it to fix all problems but we cant have a situation where big business is calling the shots.

What would you be saying if it was remain and 10 years from now brits were having to all go abroad for menial work ?

I think Cameron (like many of us on the remain side), never expected to have such a high turnout for leave. Cameron perhaps naively, assumed those who would turn out to vote would be those for remain, not leave.

He also felt (I think), that the remain campaign with in general more facts (at least from his viewpoint), would swing it. As has been proven, the electorate don't seem to care about the future or facts, whatever they can do to say **** you to the Government, they will do it. A lot of this is I suspect in part due to FPTP and UKIP's one MP and also the Government cuts.

It's a lot to do with previous election result I agree.
I've said it 100 times
Its now time to reform the voting system

I'd be asking what our elected representatives had done to drop the ball so badly where that would be the case. We've not emerged into a socialist utopia - big business is still very much calling the shots and will do for the foreseeable future.

GBP/USD lowest for at least 12 years:

Nothing overly dramtic about it all, and dont say "it hasnt dropped THAT much recently" because the brexit has been priced in for ages. We would be likely heading back to 1.6 again if we voted to remain
