As a Guardian-reading, BBC News watching Lefty, the BBC and The Guardian are really doing my head in today. Talk about stoking the fires of division; they've been pushing the 'old people have stolen the future from the young by forcing them out of the EU' line all day. Stories, articles, comment-pieces, interviews with young Remain-voters (from London, naturally). The message they're sending is pretty clear; if this all goes **** up, blame the old. They're the ones that ****ed you.

It might be (at least partly) true, but it isn't helpful.

Do you seriously think it is only a problem here? Every country in the world has it. People are tribal, just look at political parties, football teams, national identity, even the Olympics is divided by nationality.

Check out Pretoria right now if you want to see real prejudice and that's literally tribal.

Oh everywhere has it? Guess we shouldn't try to improve then.

It won't be. We both stand to benefit. In business the choice to make will be obvious. The negotiations start soon.

MAYBE there will be no noticeable negative impact, but I highly doubt it. What do we (EU/GB or GER/GB) have to benefit from? I can not imagine anything.

As China/India and emerging nations compete on the world stage, how will the dissolution of the EU help Britain?

The dissolution may not be necessary. It is the change to allow autonomy in all nations rather than a one size fits all model. A system that has become top heavy and self interested. Susceptible to lobbying and corruption.

With the freedom to negotiate our own free trade deals with China and India we can do what the EU should be doing.

The sad thing is, for the people they interviewed on tv who voted Brexit who were banging on about getting their country back and cutting immigration because they want their jobs back don't think that the immigrants are doing the jobs they don't want to do.

And this is the real sad thing about this whole campaign. It's played on the uneducated. I would say those are the people most likely to be influenced. They're angry about something and they don't quite know why. When somebody tells them, they believe it.

It's happened in the past and I am sure will happen again but it's one of the reasons why I really despise UKIP.

lol have you seen this one !

With Scotland likely to leave the UK, the 'Toffs' have been pretty much guaranteed power for some time to come.

No genuine act of revolt has the full support of the Mail, the Sun and the right wing of the Tory party.

You've been duped mate.

You've just voted in the real 'Toffs'
You've just voted for the right wing of the Tory party

Do you really think Scotland are going to risk leaving the UK to be in the EU, tell me what happens if the EU say no, Scotland on it's own?

Gotcha. We roam around the world freeing the crap out of everyone again.

That's right compared to most countries in the prejudice stakes we're miles behind.

Just picked the Mrs up from the station. She was in quite a state.
All day she's been the butt of jokes at her work with people asking "So, when are you leaving?" and "Are you still here?".

Disgusting.

That's just wrong in so many ways, I really felt for EU nationals in the UK today. It must have felt like a right kick in the teeth and unsettling feeling of when is mob going to arrive for some who were feeling the extreme of it.

Tell her not all of us feel the same and at least here in Scotland your always welcome :)

Of course they do, it's the anti-nuclear button to them. They need to resolve this asap to prevent the Eurozone disintegrating. It's in our interest to stall and negotiate to stay in the EU with terms deemed favourable to the public. We are the party that is in control of the situation at the moment.

Dream on. It would have to be agreed by the other leaders. I can just imagine it, Britain has stuck two fingers up to Europe but now wants preferential treatment. Oh yes, an easy sell to the 27 country leaders. Not going to happen. More likely to get the most disadvantaged terms to dissuade others. Make an example of them.

But we're now trading as a smaller trading bloc with a far larger trading bloc.
If the largest trading bloc in the world couldn't secure the right deals with China what special magic will we have on our own?

Someone on my Facebook today posted that a random guy in a coffee shop asked her "so when are you leaving?"

She replied "I was born here."

People are so quick to judge base on the colour of their skin and their looks, sure that's not all the leave campaign is about but this leave vote seems to give some people seemingly some legitimacy in their open bigotry towards others based on nothing but their appearance.
