To all the remainers saying immigration was the number one reason people voted out (and I know there were some on here) the Lord Ashcroft survey suggests otherwise. Tories and Labour voters alike, the number one reason was the principle that decisions about the UK should be taken in the UK.

It's an interesting study from Ashcroft, but what demographic has given you that 3.6% (easily half of that coming from downright lunatics and nasties, stirred up by tactics even Gove, Carswell and Bo found deplorable) iirc boost over the finish line? Now that's more telling of the immigration issue. Further, what's their number 2 issue, and how many said 'control' but thought 'immigration', as it has proved rather publicly divisive? But as I said earlier, it's bean counting at this stage and not that relevant to how the winners will be handling their many referendum promises. For the sake of the country -- good luck to them, they'll need it.

Can all the remain people tell me that if the vote was the other way round, would you agree on a second referendum?

Now lets see

If the Remain campaign were queuing up to retract/revise the bulk of their main talking points within 24 hours of the results and there was a call to redo the referendum then I wouldn't object.

Having a second referendum and staying in the EU would be funny after Dodgy Dave has resigned. What a great troll to get rid of him :D

How many times do I have to mention that it was Nigel Farage who stated that a 52 48 split should call for a second referendum.

Indeed.

Also, it's not like we can just switch our membership of the EU on/off on a whim.

Leaving is going to hard, distracting and costly. Not to mention that it will very likely tare this country apart.

To do this on less that a 2 point lead is daft, especially since it seems many of the leave vote are having second thoughts.

At the very least, I would want a second referendum on the agreement before we push the red button and formally leave.

What on earth does the wording to this mean?

"We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum."

It was written before the vote. It means that either there needs to be at least a 60/40 majority, or the turnout should be 75% or above to consider the result as a mandate from the electorate.
