I simply didn't think our entry was very good. But then I felt that way about most of the entries. I thought Austria's attempt was kinda decent and catchy. Didn't do well so what do I know :D
 
We had guests around last night and by the time Eurovision came on we were a bit erm... pickled, so we didn't bother. Watched a few bits today, our entry was an absolute dog's dinner, and the winner was absolutely awful too.

Not bothered I missed it now :D

I just saw this thread today and read it through to post # 350, and now we're on page 7 in the early # 600s.

My favourite was Croatia, tied with Ireland. Croatia sounded like a more poppy version of industrial, and they brought in the knickers again like last year :D Ireland reminded me of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and a fairly Satanic set with the pentagram etc.

Other ones I liked - Armenia with its Irish-eque folk song / sea shanty thing going on, Lithuania for its house music / dance style and Sweden for its trance music style and the impression they gave with the stage set, being the 1st act to perform. I quite liked Ukraine for its gospel-turned-dance/pop style but they probably got given the political vote again due to the war.

Israel very much definitely got given the political vote and I didn't think much of their entry but I did like the Stargate on their set (and posters did mention this on page 2 in this thread).

The Netherlands got banned at very late notice, during one of the rehearsals I think, due to some "incident" but the press has been cagey about it.

Switzerland's entry (the winner) was musically very original. Can't really put it in a category. He/they was a great performer on that disc and being able to sing at the same time. Overall I put that about halfway down on my list, so 12 entries I preferred more and 12 entries I preferred less.

UK probably needs an ironic song about being on their/our own post-brexit , to get some sympathy votes

so the winners song was just a celebration of being bi-sexual, using the older vernacular

No. Bisexuality means attracted to both men and women, and is thus an expression of sexuality, they are non-binary which means they identify as neither male nor female, and is thus an expression of gender identity.
 
There is so much hype on the run up on the BBC that I actually sat down and watched it for the first time in a very long time and... that was the bizaarest thing I think I've ever seen. I honestly don't get what all the fuss is about but then I'm not a gay man so probably not the BBC's target audience I guess.

IMO When the biggest discussions are not anything to do with the topics name, it is time to wind it up.
 
It's a laugh, not one to be taken seriously.

Also anyone surprised or annoyed by gender/sexuality within the contest, it's Eurovision, it's always been at least camp.
