***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Can I ask what the average age of people posting in here is. I'm 31 and I think I enjoy building more than my kids :D

36. Not got as much as most people as I've never had the space to keep it but am working on it slowly, Star Wars collection is slowly building up.
My kids just don't appreciate a highly sophisticated interlocking brick system

So just got back from the Lego Store in east London's Westfield. When I asked if they had any pre-identified figures or could help me work out which one was which I was met with blank looks :(

And yes for the record 30 with no kids. Using minifigs to slowly introduce the girlfriend to Lego before I start filling the house with it and scare her off. Though to be fair she did get me the space shuttle set last Christmas so it's her fault.

Could someone explain to me these "pre-identified" figures, what are they are why can't you tell and need a sales assistant for that?

Minifigures come in sealed, opaque packaging so the only way to know which character is inside is to fondle the bag to feel out certain identifiable items.

People sell pre-ID'd ones online, the girl in the MK store told me they stayed in late a couple nights and ID'd loads I'm assuming for themselves but also kept them out back for customers. They didn't have a Milhouse but said they were having another session so I came back the next week.

This was when they first came out so maybe they just do them early on. They've ID'd a couple there in front of me too, at both MK and Liverpool.
