Anyone able to help with this?
Last xmas I got a Lego campervan from a mate abroad. My wife said "let me do a couple of instructions" and before I knew it she'd finished the whole bloody thing. This year, I'd like to get her her own set. Something big. No technic, just lots of pieces (preferrably over a thousand) and fun to build.
Any ideas?

no worries.mine is in the cupboard until I finish the falcon.
Keep eyeing up the Ghostbusters set too. may have to pull the trigger on that one.

Ha! The Falcon would be awesome, but I couldn't see her building it, sadly. I'd get the old "oh you bought me a gift so you could build it?" card. The irony and all that.
Nevertheless, I just ordered the Mini. Looks awesome, especially next to the T1 camper, which we already have

I dunno how the licensing works for what they have bought but if you look at the in coming lego sets for next year so far it's mostly rebels sets. Maybe because that's all their work and what they can milk most? It will be interesting how early the film sets hit the stores. The rebels stuff was months before the series even aired.
I can't see them making a new falcon when there will be a load of other ships to milk.
Bought the Technic Cargo plane yesterday. Finished the build earlier whilst watching the rugby.

They have had 4 versions of the Falcon over the years, yet it hasn't been in a film since the early 80s. Maybe not a UCS Falcon, but as they have EOL'ed the current Falcon set, its got to be a certainty that they will release some new set.
Yeah I'm sure in the next couple of years there will be another in some capacity but you mentioned another UCS set. You have moved the goalposts
The current falcon should be EOL, it's ****. Even in a 5 year olds playroom it's the ginger stepchild in his sets. Two of my workmates have it too for their sons and one glued it together and the other says it's now rebuilt into 10 other models because it breaks if you move it. All the bits you might want to play with are useless. Boarding ramp, useless. Quad cannons, useless, cockpit is a mess to get 1 figures in. Whoever designed it hopefully got sacked.
Thankfully not, because as great as it looks it would end up staying in the box for what it's worth and that defeats the object
