35 today & got my first ever Lego Star Wars set from my wonderful Parents :)

Been well over twenty years since I've built one and have been dying to get this for the past few years. Was heartbroken to hear it had been discontinued recently.

Where'd you get the empty balls from??

Do the bricks make up a kit?, or are they just pretty colours??

The balls were just from the range i think it was...fit 15 2x2 blocks in pretty perfect, so just found a store on bricklink with a good selection and bought them in sets of 5 for each bauble :) Just random colors really

Could have used my own stock, but im still trying to build up some sets so didnt want to fall short and then have to wait to complete a set...think they worked out about £1.50 as some of the clear colours and the pinks etc were a bit more expensive :)

Any idea where they managed to source this from?

Lego store in Cardiff had some when I was in last month. Very tempted to get one.
Its my mission to get all ships from the original trilogy regardless of what they are like.

Just need the space....

Ok will keep an eye out. Just noticed they never seem to come back into stock on the lego online store.

Living in Leicester not a lego store remotely near (Milton keynes i think nearest one)

How big is that?? V jealous :D

But it's a big grey arrow head, with naff figures with the exception of bossk :p

Don't get me wrong, as a ship the SS destroyer is awesome in the SW universe, but as a model or toy, don't see the appeal. Some of the designs they get out are fantastic, but that just doesn't do much for me at all.

I do see the appeal in buying one and putting it in the cupboard for 12 months though :D

Haha that's massive, they have done a superb job there. Dark Empire never happened now Lucas made it non canon :( I bet that couldn't be taken out by a single A-Wing :D

I'm from Ireland. Smyth's toy store (Airside Retail Park, Swords if you're over this way or you have friends/family over here) had 3 on the shelf last Tuesday. My parents went in at 9:30am and they got one, with another guy behind them asking for one too.
