Those keen shoppers will find it :p

Picked this up out of the blue at work today, someone was selling it on our staff intranet. Mint condition and still sealed, £20 :)

You got a Wilko's near you? They do 'own brand' green and gray baseplates for like £3.50.

Thanks I will look into that, tbh they take the complete **** with baseplate prices, especially the grey large one. I mounted my sons echo base on the large grey one and it's so much easier to play with. I'm going to buy 12 of the large plates and mount them on two ikea coffee tables. That's £120ish in just plates!

Nice find, especially for £20! :)

That's the effort. For just a base plate you can't go wrong, bigger than the standard Lego one also.

I've done the same, got a few of those and fixed em to an old coffee table for the kids to use :D

I'm sure I've seen grey ones in store, can't see em on the website though. Works a treat with all their proper Lego, I just couldn't bring myself to spend 3-4x the price on a flat board! I honestly can't figure out why the official base plates cost so much.

Also, picked this up for my little lad yesterday:

£24.99 reduced from £49.99, in store managers special.

Bargain :D

Got 11kg of loose stuff for £60 the other night from someone literally a 2 minute dirve from us.

Had a quick sift through, few harry potter sets, few marvel sets...easily more than £60 worth in there...just to sort it all out now :p

Went to The Art of the Brick exhibition in London today. Really enjoyed it. It was nice to see some 'serious' models made in Lego. Plus, a T Rex is always awesome :p

Are those wilko the best own brand Lego baseplate?
I want to get a few, and cba spending a tenner per plate on actual Lego ones.
Any sales, or other versions, people would recommend?

Picked up a couple of the Wilko's ones on Sunday. For £3.50 they are very good, although they are not square. My son has built several cityscapes on them. I would certainly recommend.

As I'm now officially on my Christmas holidays I've opened up my 42030 to keep me busy, it's a beast, the manual is ~300 pages.

That's an epic set, I asked for it for xmas, let's see if my wife loves me :p

Failing that I've still got the Mini Cooper which needs building and because I was feeling extravagant, Tower Bridge. Not sure whether to build the bridge or keep it as an investment. I've seen them go for triple what I paid for it already.

Skeeter > thanks for bringing that to my attention, I might pop over and have a gander myself.

It's full name is Wilkinson, if that helps. I'm heading off to my local one in a bit, I can have a look if you like. If you want I can send some next day delivery.
