Probably no more LEPIN substitutes for a while.
Their three factories have been shut down with 300 workers out of a job now, and 4 arrested with 650,000 units ready to ship products seized, about 30 Million dollars worth.
So if you want that cheap falcon substitute, order it now.

Lepin wasn't keeping Lego prices low.... even though Lepin was a problem they were a fraction of Lego's overall revenue, especially in Europe and America. Also a purchase of a knock off set doesn't equal a lost real set sale, far from it. Just look at the amount of fake handbags people bring back from their holidays, you really think Chanel are losing sales?

That said can't say I'm sad to hear that though the whole 'company' was essentially a criminal gang. Their only activities were entirely illegal and wouldn't last 5 minutes if they were based in the west let alone mass a workforce of 300 people and '$30million' in stock. Not only where they ripping off other peoples IP they were selling it as their own, no doubt they will rise from the dead again like most knock off products do.

Just googled the images, look at the state of the place. It's hard to imagine the workforce wasn't being exploited in some way.

3000, that's a really significant sized operation. China needs to sort their back yard out if they want to be taken seriously in the modern world.

I think they made moves at last due to the fact LEGO are opening a LEGOLAND funland style place in China next year, so when you work with them, they will sort you, if you don't they won't care.

Very true indeed there used to be fake Microsoft stores in Saudi as in branded stores with staff wearing Microsoft branded shirts. As soon as MS did a bit of sponsorship that all got shut down.
